I'm such a "luggage" whore to a point where they always ding me with additional "Overweight Luggage" charges for being over 50lbs checked...true story...I always bring like 5 times more stuff than I actually need/use.

It's all those cases of Beck's.... they DO have international distribution, y'know.. :p

Steve and Tiffles!

Steve wants to "scoop you both up" sounds like a cat box to me.

I hate luggage whores whethter fat of skinny. I also love that they have cracked ddown on the personthat has five bags compressed on the roller cart that drops luggage on you and makes you wait behind them while they get their stuff together.

Tiffles great way of handling the perverts.

Maybe you and Steve may have to make a palm springs run....Tiffles driving only.

Tiffles and Azzy your bonding and Azzy's opening her house is another reason why this forum makes me proud.

"so how about stuff to do or see? hints for places to see good theater? great live music? hot cars?"

London - plenty of theatres ranging from the big West End shows right through to smaller theatre companies - loads and loads of choice.

Great live music - again worth checking out the gig guides for when you are over - when are you in the UK Tiff? Again, loads of venues in and around London, ranging from the big / medium size venues to places like Camden Underworld - which hosts touring bands right through to unsigned local band nights where you get 3 or 4 local unknown bands playing - bit of a lottery but you do get some interesting bands sometimes.

Some good bars too - shame ,as one of my fave pubs the Intrepid Fox in Soho has just been shut down - to build Luxury Flats !!! - one of the few rock music joints left in London - historic place (a pub since 1784) reputedly where Mick Jagger signed up Ronnie Wood to the Stones.

Plenty of Walkabouts - so you can dose up if you start suffering from Antipodean withdrawal...

Some great vintage guitar and bass shops around Denmark Street (Tin Pan Alley) - leave your credit card at home! the bass cellar is a particularly dangerous place to visit!

Hot cars - well - there are usually a few burnt out cars dotted around Brixton! Otherwise the Ace Cafe is worth a visit for hot cars, bikes, classics and old Yanks - usually accompanied by rock'n'roll bands. www.ace-cafe-london.com.

Just received this from a friend - might be of interest Tiff ...

Airport security – new restrictions from 22 September21 September 2006

The Department for Transport has today announced a further relaxation in the security restrictions at UK airports, which will be implemented at all BAA airports from the start of business on Friday, 22 September 2006.

The revised security measures allow for:

an increase in the size of the hand baggage permitted onboard and
musical instruments to be taken onboard.
In addition, BAA will now be allowing passengers to take solid cosmetics in hand luggage.

This easing of restrictions is not a return to normal as the revised regulations will continue to have an impact on our airports' operations. All passengers will be subject to hand baggage restrictions and are asked to be patient while these additional security measures are in place. Passengers are asked to allow extra time for their journey and to arrive at the airport prepared.

Hand baggage restrictions
Passengers are permitted to carry ONE item of hand baggage, no larger than the specified size, through the airport security search point. The dimensions are as follows:

56 centimetres long (approximately 22 inches)
45 centimetres wide (approximately 17.5 inches)
25 centimetres deep (approximately 9.85 inches).

Please note: Other bags, such as handbags, may be carried WITHIN the single item of cabin baggage. All items carried by passengers will be x-ray screened. Cameras, small electrical items such as MP3 players and gameboys, etc can remain in the bag for screening. However, all laptops and large electrical items must be removed from the bag and placed in a separate tray. Pushchairs and walking aids are permitted but must be x-ray screened. Wheelchairs are permitted but must be thoroughly searched.

See there IS an Open House 2006 :D (although it is actually a fairly small flat - Dave can testify to that) :)

But we wouldn't have had reason or opportunity to bond if it hadn't been for you BP.

Tiffles and I are going to have to do a Terrible Twosome Tour of London - not sure whether to do the normal touristy thing or to have it as an "alternative" tour - except I'm not sure what "alternative" would entail! :D

Tiffles just enjoy every minute you can. Don't hug Steve too many times it will mess him up. LOL

I think we should all agree to call this Tiff's big adventure and be happy.

And yell if anyone is hurting you Tiff. It is supposed to be fun.
