I've heard about a certain Mahogany tone block found on the 20th Anniversary Silhouette and the JP Prototype. Can someone explain to me what this is, where it's located and how it affects the sound?

Thanks for answering.

i believe that the block is down the center of the body, along with the pickups, bridge, etc. and i think it adds to the warmth of the guitar as stated above.

Actually is starts in the neck pocket and continues just past the bridge...I looks like an absolute vodka bottle.....

It actaully enhances the mids.

Interesting. I'd have thought anything remotely like an Absolut Vodka bottle would enhance my Highs. :D BP you set'em up. I'll knock'em down.

Seriously though, I'm curious why it stops just past the bridge as opposed to just running through the whole body length. Funny. Somehow, I think I know what the answer is going to be.

Giving EBMM their propensity to tinker with things, they might prototype an Axis with the DSMTB. If they like it, it might even become a production model.

If it happens, it happens. If not, well....there are those models that do have them.
