My friend told me about this band on friday, and since then I've been hooked. These guys are great. They're a trio from Australia consisting of a guitarist/lead singer, a bassist/keyboardist, and a drummer.
They sound like a mix of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple. I love this kind of music, and was dissapointed that there weren't any bands left like Zeppelin.

Check them out, you won't regret it.

My other half absolutely LOVES Wolfmother... they're very big over here as they did a lot of festivals during the summer.

Nope. Don't get them. Whiny vocals and sub-Zepplin music.

Well, I guess they're not for everyone. As for sub-Zeppelin, I don't personally think that anything in the world could possibly come close to Zeppelin.:D

-I'm actually listening to Zeppelin as I post this. Go figure.

I saw them this summer at Coachella Fest, they were good, but it was too hot to get in the ridiculous metal tent, so I watched their shadows dance around stage.

I found them to be extremely predictable, not enhancing the genre they are bringing back. I usually don't say negative things about musicians...why did I do that?

to be honest, i quite liked Jet and Wolfmother the first few times i heard them, but then we got them shoved down our throats constantly for months on radio and tv and it just gets too much.

I know what you mean, it can get incredibly annoying.
I guess I must be slightly immune to that since I don't listen to the radio. Or watch tv very much, for that matter.

In any case, I still like them....

yeah jet and wolfmum aren't my thing... actually to be honest I hate wannabe retro-rock. Love the old music... love it when oldies do it (covers or originals). But for young people to be doing it and not changing or progressing the sound I think is pretty boring/lame.

You wanna check out the pick of the aussie crop.. check out Karnivool and cog. Bloody awesome. And someone get those guys onto musicman guits/basses!! As fas as music man playing goes.. Eskimo Joe seem to promote the use of a beautiful black stingray and they sound alright as well.

end rant.
