First price increase in seven years is actually amazing. Gibson, PRS, and others do this pretty much each year and Gibson has done it twice in a year. $200 added to retail will have very little effect on the street price anyway.

Well when I first ordered my Bongo HHP it was around $1600 Canadian but on one of my many visits the owner of my local store told me that the prices on the Bongo had been raised $300 American  However out of the kindness of his own heart he decided not to make me pay the extra $300 even though he wouldn't make any money on the deal... talk about good service I baught a new stand as thankyou to him

I was wondering when this would reach this part of the forum...
Still no word from GC...I'm hoping they won't make me pay extra, but who knows.

It's true and if anyone has a bass on order with VBTC who would be affected with this price increase they will not have to pay any more than they were originally quoted but most of you who have a bass on order with us right now has a DD on order so this will not affect any of you.

No biggie - I like to see companies do this when it's necessary. It means they can stay in business!

I'd gladly pay 10% more for my DD Sterling HH...

Compared to about everything else in the world over the last seven years, I'd say that's more than fair. I'm sure the employees and minor expenses like health insurance (!) have needed increases in that time... :)
