Yup.... one of the things that always gets up my nose about those kind of bands, is the amount of money they spend to get that crap sound.

Young and restless are a former canberra (melb now i think) that fit that mould. Triple J just love them, but their singer is just terrible. My Mind bogles.

You wanna check out the pick of the aussie crop.. check out Karnivool and cog. Bloody awesome. And someone get those guys onto musicman guits/basses!! As fas as music man playing goes.. Eskimo Joe seem to promote the use of a beautiful black stingray and they sound alright as well.

end rant.

I went and saw Karnivool live one night, to see what the hype was, to be honest they didn't do anything for me. So l ended up just drink alot of beer at the bar.

I've never heard Cog, what kind of music are they?

Cog are progressive/political... have heard them compared to tool and infact Sylvia Massey produced their LP. Their big claim to fame is that they are (or were) the biggest non-radio band in australia.. massive following. Talented muso's to boot.

I can see that karnivool isn't for everyone... I would suggest giving the album a go and let the songs get stuck in your head... but I also don't wanna be responsilbe for you wasting $25 :D

Drinking beer is always a good outcome!!
