Last night, the blues/rock trio I'm part of played a Target "friends and family" grand opening party. It was so odd that I just had to share some pics with my friends on the forum. We had a ton of fun and they payed and fed us very well. It sounded pretty good in there.

Nice! I've played strange gigs like that. We once played an adoption party. Nothing like 20 kids under the age of 6 grooving away to "Killing Floor," "St. James Infirmary," and "Crosscut Saw."

Can't see the photos at work...damn IT people filtering out Facebook & MySpace!! I'll check 'em tonight at home.

Years ago I did a weird gig right outside of a jewelry store in one of our local malls. Talk about strange! It wouldn't have been quite as strange if we had been in the middle of the mall where different functions take place, but we were actually off to the side in front of one of the stores.

We had to keep the sound at a "decent" level because there were a few complaints about how the cashiers couldn't hear the customers.

I can see the change all jumping around in the cash drawers. :)

That had to be fun.

In college we all thought about opening up a live music venue/laundromat. All college kids like beer, all college kids like music and all college kids have to do laundry. Neeto, huh?

That was right there on the drawing board with my 3-story Heavy Metal Skating Rink complete with spiraling ramps from floor to floor...

Yes, I know I'm crazy. That is why I do not run my own business.

You left out one thing Beth. What most college boys like better than all of that. :D
