Hey guys!

I'm new to this forum and to being a Musicman owner. After 4 visits to the music store, I finally succomed to my temptation, and bought a beautiful 2006 limited edition SR5. :) This thing looks and sounds great!!!! However I'm having a small problem. When I put the switch in the upper position, (1 and 2 coil in series I believe) the power output cuts in half and becomes very very Bassy. It's intermitent and usualy starts when the bass is plugged in for some time. Do you think the pickup is bad, or just faulty soldering?

Thanks
Henry

I did try Customer service first. I sent a E-mail couple of days ago, but they haven't answered yet, that's why I came to the forum for answers. Maybe I'll try tkarter suggestion and try giving them a call.

Thanks

give them a call, they will take care of you, these folks have the best customer service in the business, they probably recieve hundreds on emails a day, to respond to them in a timley manner is impossable.

First thing I check for sound probs with a bass is my inst. cable; if that's good, the next thing I do is install a brand new battery and make sure it's seated properly.

If that's all good, and I had a brand new bass like an '06 LE SR5, I'd be heading back to where I bought it for some good old fashioned EBMM retailer customer service.

(I wonder if the retailer tested everything before delivery? Like a 'pre-delivery inspection'?)

Well it's being resolved right now, I should be able to tell you the outcome later this week. EB customer service is indeed amazing like everyone sais it is. They went the extra mile, to compensate for the bad service and diagnostic from the music store.

It's not all bad, cause I can still play and enyoy it!!
