I just bought a Stingray 5. "Used", but as unused as if were just stolen from the factory's expedition outlet. Its serial number is 55066. Could you, please, tell me when was it built??

Greg can probably give you an exact date after the weekend but it looks to me like mid-90s.

However...IMO... E03700 would have to be July/Aug 1998.

E27468...IMO....somewhere between 2001 and 2002.

I'll give that a try if no reply here. Your dating is pretty close as far as year goes. I bought my 4 string in April of 1998, just bought my 5 string a week ago today and I'm loving it.

Thanks Greg! Sorry about burying the serial numbers in an existing thread. I'm fairly new to these forums and was just continuing the existing topic with the same question.
Guess I bought my 4 string in April of 1999, not April of 1998...seems as how it wasn't even built at that time, hehe.

I have a rather battered but much loved stingray with serial no: 25993 on the bridge. At least i assume its the serial number as i cant find a number anywhere else.
