Ladies and gents Andrew just left.

He was shaking, and stumbling out of my house. He was muttering something like a man possesed. To the best I could hear, it sounded like my GK is in trouble, must get MarkBass. :D

Seriously, Andrews HH StingRay 5 to the Little Mark II on to the Berg HT322 was NUTS. We both just kinda stared and laughed. Thats about all we could get out.

Ok here's how it went.

I got there:

He played few little notes: :)

He played more notes:

I played it: :D :D :D

It seriously kills most amps i've ever heard. My GK truly is in trouble.

With that said, I still do love my GK and would never sell it. It's just too badass.

Uh oh...a crack in the armor!

I'm pretty happy Markbass hasn't made it to Jersey yet. I love my EA stuff but I'm very curious about MB amps, especially the combos. No dough for a new amp right now!

I really like my Genz Benz 1200.

It's really heavy.

I got such a good deal on it that I can turn it without losing a dime if I decide that I have to have a Mark Bass amp.

I also have a Bergantino 322 that it could sound good with.

Did you tell him to call you when he makes it home OK? Sounds sorta like what you gotta do when someone has a couple too many at the bar.

At first, I was like damn you for throwing a monkey wrench into my GK plans but now I am very thankful you pointed Markbass out.

After getting home and doing a little playing....

I'm a GK man.

I knew you wouldn't let me down Andrew:p Seriously, I wouldn't mind checking out one of the Mark Bass heads(probably the Little Mark II for something I could keep outside of my rack and use for rehearsals and inside the house) but GK has worked for me for a lot of years and it would be pretty hard for me to just kick it to the curb......:)

Choices, options, opinions - ain't it grand?

One man's garbage another man's treasure... etc. etc. etc.

There are no "wrong" opinions...

Ok - having said all that, I love my Hartke but hate hauling it out of my basement and back. Last gig I left complaining that I need to replace this rig... Then played with my eq quite close to flat and LOVED my tone... Came back complaining that I would never leave this rig. :p

Prior to this rig, I often played straight through the PA board with a Hartke ATK pedal and LOVED my tone.

I was desperate to check-out MarkBass before they were readily available in the US and I plan to give them a look-see later next year (probably right after my next experience hauling my 200lb rig out of my basement again!).

But, bottom line - and with respect to the EBMM basses - we're starting with fundamentally AWESOME tone, and short of running through some bottom-of-the-line, low-end amplification system we're likely to get that "sound in our head" experience from a wide variety of systems.

IMHO, of course... :)

tk - you're such a trouble maker!;)

Seriously, though - I'm following this intently. My (don't laugh) padded Kustom rig just ain't cuttin' it anymore (I know - there's a shocker!)
I've heard someone in CT is getting Eden's in soon, but I'm hearing a lot of good things about Markbass, too. I also recently played through a friend's SWR rig and was blown away. Problem is, no one around here carries any of these so I have no real way to check them out without serious traveling. Before settng out on the road, I'm just listening in.......
