Would appreciate postings of high res pictures of StingRays, preferably 5 String: Black Cherry Burst, Honey Burst, Vintage Sunburst, & Tobacco Burst. I am going to be purchasing a StingRay, but when I scope the "Picture Gallery" & "What color is this?" Threads, a lot of the links seem to be broken.

Thanks all

Stingray 5's look great in anyone of those colors. :)

Foggy should be along shortly.

Sayed;

If you're considering an SR5, wait a bit. The 10th anniversary SR5 will be coming out in a few months. Nobody except BP and crew knows what it looks like yet (well, maybe Jack, but he's got a high security clearance, training in resisting torture and isn't talking), but if the 20th and 30th SR4s are anything to go by, it'll be *well* worth waiting for.

Man, makes me stoked to get my PBB sterling that is on order, hope it comes soon. That one with the graphite neck has got to be just thumping with attack!

I am planning to drop a Bartolini custom wound replacement pickup in mine as an experiment to see what tone I can get in the lower register. If it does not work, I can always pull it and drop it on E-bay. Anyone else ever do this?

P.S. sorry I sort of hijacked the thread. :rolleyes:

Yes, they are please. Especially the difference between Tobacco Burst & Vintage Sunburst. I know what Gibson Vintage Sunburst looks like, my dad's Nick Lucas re-issue is VS. I know what Fender's Tobacco burst looks like, a friend's Deluxe Jazz is tobacco. When I go to StingRay dealers websites, I've seen pictures of Tobacco Burst & Vintage Sunburst listed basses, that all look the same to me. Even when the pictures of 4 different basses that are supposedly different colors are imported into PhotoShop, all on the same page, they all look like the same color.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Here's the Tobacco Burst. This is my favourite burst. Very classy.

Here's the Honey Burst. It's between a Cherry Burst and the Tobacco Burst.

Then there's the Vintage Sunburst.
