Hey guys...

So I'm at work right now and Tiffs adventuring in SF but I'll give a lil update for you guys:

Tiff was pretty tired from the fun she had at SOB so Monday was mellow. She got in around 3:30pm or so, i picked her up and we just chilled, went to my abnd practice then went home - she passed out like a light at around 8 or 9.

Problem is that this whole thing was last minute and there's no way I can get time off work but we're doing our best to make sure Tiffs gets to see and do stuff. So far the dirll has been that on my way to work in SF I drop Tiff off at a cool/touristy place for her to roam around at.

Yesterday I dropped Tiff off at Pier 39/Fisherman's warf. She hung out there for a bit then called me up to come get her when she was done checking things out. So about 4pm she called and she was at AT&T park which is a few blocks from my work. I picked her up, brought her to work... she chilled a bit then the gang from work n Tiff went to the bar next door at about 5pm.

Today is a super nice day in SF. So we got up and headed to SF. I drove thru the sunset district (where i used to live as a kid). I drove up to these places with cool views that you'd never know about unless you lived there. So we went up this big ass hill and walked to this random part of this random park and Tiff got to see the Pacific for the first time. The view of the ocean from 14th and Quintara in SF is dope.

This whole area is up high and residential so its no tourist destination - but its rad. Since this area is like 200 ft higher than the next block there's these LONG stairways up from one block to another. and from one of the stairways (looks like the end of the exorcist), on a nice day you can see Golden Gate Park and the golden gate bridge.

So tiff saw that and smiled... i think i heard her homesickness fad at that moment.

Then off to Golden Gate park (thsi is about 10:30am today). Last night we figured she'd have fun at the park since there's so much to do. So this morning I drew her a little map of all the things near where I was gonna drop her off at this morning. All within close walking distance she has:

1) the DeYoung Museum
2) the Japanese Tea Garden
3) the Skarepeare Gardens
4) some cool big Carousel
5) Stow lake - paddle boat rentals and stuff
6) The Conservatory of Flowers
7) The Botanical Gardens
8) Haight Street

so - she's got all those things withing walking distance.

I think for tomorrow we're gonna plan a little route for her. Something like Museum of Modern art -> Union Square -> Cable car -> north Beach -> China town. I dunno, we'll see.

It sucks that I cant get out of work but luckily she's cool with adventuring. This weekend i'll have plenty of time to show her around.

SLO huh? that does sound pretty damn fun. You gonna be there guys? Pops, Jon, Dargin? That does sound cool - I'll pitch that to Tiff and see what she says.

I'll glue Tiff to my laptop tonight and have her give you guys her take. I know she wants to update her travel blog (esp. for Jack and Beth) so I thin she'll fill everyone in tonight.

Many of you know how to get a hold of me via cell so feel free to call either of us on my number. I get my emails on my phone so if you dont have my cell number but wanna talk to us PM me your phone number (ill get the email on my Blackberry) and we'll call you. I expect to be picking Tiff up around 5 or 6 depending on how much walking she feels like doing.

Glad she's ok (you too Arin) as I've not seen her online for a while! I had no idea she was going to San Fran

I'll be online for another couple of hours - so I don't know if that's gonna be doable for her...

I'll be working in Redwood City tomorrow and Friday, so if you'd like to see some other cool spots at night like Twin Peaks, Lombard Street or Coit Tower and maybe have coffee at North Beach one of these evenings I can volunteer to drive. Hey Phatty and Tiff....there is a jam night tomorrow night at Belmont at the Gate, if you guys want to join us there. Also, if Tiff is going to be around on Tuesday, Halloween. There is going to be a big costume jam night held at the same place at 9:30 Pm..Belmont, St James Gate. Hope you guys can make it.

we will all be here, if she gets here on thurs she can see the factory in full swing if Friday half swing and I cant promise that I can get the factory open on Sat ( Idont have keys to anything! if you come down here I will spring for a budget hotel for the two of you.

Phatty I know that Im echoing the other forumites but thanks a bunch for your kindess for onw of our own. Any body want to show her la next week?

Tiff's no headed on over to the Haight. I'm gonna go meet up with her in about 45 minutes or so.

Tomorrow at St James sounds fun. Shamus has told me about that place a billion times. sounds fun.

The other tourist stuff like Lombard will happen. Im need to drive for that one. So im planning on doing a weekend tourist thing. Lombard, the bridge, the presidio forts, maybe sausolito... stuff like that.

So MXPX is saturday huh? I do wanna go. Im sure Tiff will be down. Jon you got 2 couches? So MXPX Saturday huh.... hmm, I gotta figure out when to squeeze in the tourist stuffs if we hit SLO for the weekend. do we need tix in advance?

I might have rehearsal tomorrow night in the East Bay for a Saturday show, but I'll probably get to the Gate by 10:30ish.

BTW (Arin) ~ the Gate has been one of the hot spots on the Peninsula over the last few months for a great hang...Thursday night jams included!

Hey Arin,
If Tiffs is up for it and you motor on up to Sausalito, keep going a few miles up to Muir Woods. Awesome sights in that redwood forest and not to be missed if she likes the great outdoors. Just wear sturdy shoes, take a jacket and some water. By coincidence, I'll be there for a few days the week after Dallas. I have only good memories of my visits to SF. Looking forward to it.

um yeah so im in san fran wooo! ive had a wine or two.. ps arins parentals are the best. super fun.

bp YAAAAAAAAY i couldnt stop smiling when arin told me about the fun to happen.

so i normally like independence and exploring but id love some company... after a few days of solitude i need people!!!!

san fran is very very pretty. we went to a weird local lookout tonight looking over the ocean with pretty light views of the bridge. i could have sat there all night.

spent a loooong time in the gallery. the arcitecture of the building was incredible everything was art, i loved it. met some crazy rollerblading dancing blokes n chicks and they told me about fun stuff and fire twirling in the park.they just wanted to hear me talk lol its great being an aussie although most people think im english grr
