I' ve played a morse Y2D ...

it was during the tour, I had a stop in one of our MM dealer's store...that was nice beacause I had the axis SS with me, so I could compare...

in my memories, the morse blueburst was a little bit more "strat" than the axis, less bass, more high, it was a bit more difficult to play too...

to Y2D had nothing to do with it ! it has really MORE bass thant the axis, as mus high as the axis but in different frequences... a lot of presence...the neck was realy easy for my small hands...and the color...woua !!!!!

I did not expect so much from this guitar, especialy after playing a silo 20 th wich was a kind of perfection yo me ...but I have to say ...it's fantastic !

I think next one would be an other silo as a spare for my black sparkle...this guitar is my fave....but if I have a chance to get a morse Y2D, I'll take it...

solething else...i've been given a stingray HS black / maple for the tour...I recorded with it today, direct in my fireface....MEN , IT ROCKS !

in a couple of week it's gonna be my 30 th birthday and my 1 rst birtday as a music man endorsee...I hope I'll get 30 of this too

yep the Y2D rocks alright!!!! Took me a little while to get used to mine, but i'm best friends with it now, it is a very unique axe. such a rock beast!!!!

Once I start playing the y2d is the hardest guitar to put down. It just makes you want to play it more.

Anyone here that has one and "anchor" picks like me? I typically anchor my pinky on the body under the pickup and I am slightly worried that the vol. knob is going to get in the way. I don't do vol swells like Steve, so I hope I can figure out how to play around it if it does present a problem.

Now Petrucci, he knows where a volume knob should be placed.

That's why there are the different models to choose from.

Try anchoring your pinky on the volume knob. If you have seen Steve play you know that he does this and OMG the use he gets out of his volume knob (pot) is beautiful. Try to learn to do volume swells like Steve and add them to your tool box. I really prefer the placement of the volume knob of the Morse and SiLO to the pet. I know that when I play my pet that volume swells have to be done with a pedal. I just think it sounds and looks cooler to do it with the guitar's volume knob. Also, you are not "anchored" to a pedal this way.

On the other hand (or foot as the case may be) it really is fun so step on an EBVH (Ernie Ball Volume Hammer)

The Morse is an awesome guitar...I have been eyeing one at my local dealer, and after almost two years of seeing it i finally took the plunge and bought it they gave me a deal i could not resist.....You see where i'm from there is not a lot of EBMM players so they don't sell fast, and the morse just sat there on the stand all that time...I ordered my two JP6's from them on a special order, and i had wanted to place another order for an albert lee but now i'm going to wait till the beggining of the year to place the order because of this purchase....Since the morse was sitting around for so long. The guitar is in the shop getting cleaned and getting setup....will try to get pics soon....The color is morse blue with a black pearloid p/g and a floyd very nice looking...I know it's not a Y2D, but i love it...Now i'm thinking of my next order what will it be Hmmmm. I'm strongly considering a Y2d in a purple sunset....Who knows, but i love the Steve Morse Model.

The Y2D flat out ROCKS. I love that guitar- the neck is perfect, the sound is huge and incredibly versatile.

Of course I'm biased; I've got a Morse and a Y2D
