Subjective.... obviously... it's fun to hear others opinions... I'm not going to list all the posibilities... so pick your favorite from the list..

contribute your other favorite to the thread if it isnt on the list...

most importantly, what about that tone makes you like it?

Personally I like a solo'd neck single coil. i really like the clear articulate highs and the smooth low end it produces...

On the JP6, I dig the middle position, which taps the inner coil of each humbucker.

On an HSH guitar, I like the neck bucker + single coil combination for clean.

SteveB... can you describe what it sounds
like with the JP6 with just the inner coils of each pickup?
More Strat or Tele like (obviously humbucking with both coils in tact...right?)

Thanks a lot, Lucid

On my Steve Morse, I like the Neck Humbucker + Neck Single Coil sound.
In fact it is really cool to engage / disengage the Neck Single Coil just to give some diversity in your clean sound.

Clearly the only way to go on a JP6 clean is piezo + middle posishh.

Lovely stuff

Hmm..

I don't think I can answer that question satisfactorily, as I've never played a Tele.
It's just an amazingly clean, hum-free pickup setting.

I think it has more from bridge single coil/middle single coil on a strat. It is more scooped and sounds "sweeter" especially with chorus but I doesn't have that much of twang. I LIKE IT

I like the Neck/Middle single coil position and the Middle/Bridge single coil position on my SSS Sport. On the HH Sport I like positions 2 and 4.

All depends on what you view as clean...

Neck/middle singles for most playing, bridge/middle for some country pickin' and funk, neck single for clean blues.
