I today saw a prelimary copy of my company's quarterly magazine. Now, I work for the UK's largest and oldest travel company, who employ approx 10,000 employees inside and outside of the UK. So, imagine my SHOCK HORROR when I look at the front cover of this magazine and see yours truly (muggins here) plastered over the front cover!!!! And I mean the WHOLE front cover.

By Monday this will be on the desk of every employee who works for the company (I may have to decide whether to give prizes if you guess which company ;) ) and I'm going to be even more embarrassed than I am right now and may have to spend the next 6 weeks going around with a paper bag over my head so nobody recognises me! :D I've not handled the whole "fame" thing very well so far! :)

Now I can blame you lot, as if it hadn't been for your generosity, I wouldn't have been able to do the parachute jump from which said photo is taken and which raised a stinking great amount of money for charity!!

So rest assured that your good deeds have now gone VERY noticed by a large amount of people in the UK - and the damn picture will be up here tomorrow so you can all have a look and laugh :)

To add insult to injury they managed to spell my sodding name wrong! The cheek!

*Advance note to Tiffles and BP - I'm afraid the picture does not include your favourite "piss-funny" hat - sorry guys!* :D

Not yet, in any case, and certainly not for a while!!! Though everyone I know is having babies at the moment... I need to grow up a bit - I'd make a terrible mother at the moment :D

Well, since we've had a hand at putting you on the cover, it's only fair that we get to see it right quick like, eh?

...I'm just glad you made the cover for something good that you did...and not that whole Enron-style disaster you tried to coverup early this quarter.

Thomas Cook?

DING DING DING DING!

We have a winner! :) I just need to decide what you win now... ;)

Cover is beneath... I'm still embarrassed beyond words!

Beth - if you really want a copy, send me the SLO address and I can pop one in the post...

I do find it a bit strange tho that they didn't bother asking me how much I raised or anything... so I have sent them an email detailing exactly how much I have raised and thanking everyone at EB and on their forum for their help and support :)

Post it to me and I'll take it to Dallas. Will cost you less and get there sooner.

BTW, if you work for TC don't you get cheap travel. I mean, probably could have got to Dallas for about a fiver, couldn't you? ;)

BTBTW, what you doing on here, you should be woodshedding on that new Sterling of yours. :)

I DO get cheap travel, and flights at cost inc tax - but it would still have cost me nearly £300 and I can't afford that right now! :(

PM me your addy mate and I'll pop it in the post :)

I would be on my bass, however my guitarist is at work this fine morning (hmph)... although in some ways this is the perfect opportunity! Nah - I'm taking advantage of man-not-being-under-feet to tidy this dump up! :D
