Anyone Got A Stingray 4/SUB F.S.?

Hello chaps,

This is my first posting over on the big string side of things, but don't worry I come as a friend and with exciting news of a potential convert to the cause

After months of lusting after the elegant German type basses (Warwho ?) my bass player actually went out and tried them.
Didn't like them one bit.
Found them small, cramped, and too precious for his needs....

Guess what he pulled down off of the shop wall to try next ?

That's right ladies and gentlemen Dave tried his first Stingray.

Dave now wants a Stingray/ needs a Stingray/ will not be able to continue functioning without a Stingray in his life...


So the question is any of you darlings got one for sale ?

For choice he's looking for a maple board but given that as ever, price is very much an issue then anything including a SUB will be given serious consideration.

I'm reasonably handy with a screwdriver so if you've got parts then we might even consider that too.

We're in the U.K. so U.K./Europe is choice but depending on the offset of purchase/postage costs it might prove to be just as cheap to buy from one of our American cousins.

I've got this for sale ..

1991 (IIRC) lacquered neck (as opposed to the oiled finish of the newer models)

a few dings here and there but nothing major, it has a series/parallel switch fitted.

Bob, that's a given. Even with taxes and overseas shipping I think you'll find used prices in the US very competitive when you compare to UK prices.

Thanks to both Paul C, and Azzy Wazzy. Both great basses and both at hot prices.

But regrettably Daves not long into his new house that he bought with his wife to be (And weddings aren't cheap). So I think £6-650 is kind of his top out.
Maybe something a little less 'prisitine' and a touch tattier might be more his thing, or a SUB.

I'll help you if you want mate! I'm already planning to murder phatty for his guitars, so a bit more crime wouldn't hurt
