The SSS (singles) sound great. With the 5 way switch you will get every Strat tone and more.
If you get a Piezo you will have 2 guitars for the price of one.

The MM90's are also single coils which produce the cluck and quack of the SSS, but are (apparantly)hotter. Fellow ALOC ( AL Owners Club ;) )members Pugninjas and MBGreen have MM90 equipped AL's and will no doubt come into the room soon.
JimiD will be able to offer a far more descriptive comparison too!

Well,

I have a tasty MM90 AL and used to play everything from Alice in Chains to Pearl Jam without any loss of meatiness. The MM90's can handle anything you can throw at it and sound amazing using a clean setting. I actually prefer them to humbuckers now, but that is my own personal opinion. I will probably end up getting an AL with the single coils as well, but for now the MM90's meet all my requirements:D :D

I've had three ALs, all with SSS, so I'll have to keep my comments on the single coils. I love 'em. There's plenty 'o twang there. I also like the vintage trem option. Mine stay in tune really well. You won't regret it either way.
