Think I'm going to have to get either a JP or Silo Special in this color.

I honestly think I might get a sterling, single H, piezo, white pearl, maple fingerboard.

This is an amazing chance for me to get a sterling in my favorite color.

in unsure how to feel on this one.

It's a cool color, but it's not a new color.

I may go for a HH sr4.

I was hoping for some new color, the buttercreams were sweet, the black and gold was cool.

im sure we'll get the whole scoop soon enough, but im hoping there will be something outstanding to distinguish these from the previous incarnation of the BD finish.

I'm still holding my fire until the "BFR" is revealed.

The way I heard BP is that there is not a BFR offering - rather the commitment that they will produce a few units held to a higher standard - higher quality materials and craftsmanship - not a line of goods that are offered on a continuous basis. Others in the room - please add your interpretation of what BP said about BFR.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is BFR? I know it has been spoken of here before but I am relatively new here. Thanks!;)

BFR is something that BP referred to a few months ago in relation to new "things" for 2007. Today he explained that BFR was short for "Ball Family Reserve" - meanig that the Ball Family was going to produce a few extra-ordinary pieces - a few intruments with tweaks of additional features and our quality refinements to help the public know a couple things: They are a family owned and run business - that can produce some of the finest instruments out there.

This is my interpretation of what BP said - he can certainly correct me when he gets back on this forum.......

As much as I love Blue Dawn, I don't love it as much as say, Honey Burst or Black Cherry Burst... so in some ways it makes buying my next bass easier as it's one less choice that I don't want!

I know they will no doubt be distinguished from the regular BDs somehow, and I don't want to seem at all ungrateful, but thankfully, I'm not as grabbed by these I was buttercream, for example :D Honeyburst for my next bass it still is!

Though I would be intruiged by a BD Bongo... surely that would require a different wood for the body then?
