Did anyone besides me think about changing over to MarkBass after hearing Jack's new rig?

It sounded great! And it's WAY more portable than that flippin' huge Ampeg I have been dragging around!

i didn't want to lug one thru TSA so I asked about availability at other stores. I was told to go to any GC and if not in stock they would order one. Should be at the price you saw in Dallas too. Still have Phil's card and I will be name dropping. Hope you got a GC nearby.

That is because I got the one still in the box. I am surprised they didn't want to sell the demo unit, because when I bought mine he was about to grab the demo and I asked if he had one in a box.

For those of us who were not there, could someone please describe what Jack's rig was?

Hey Jack can you give us a heads up? I have a Demeter/Crown K2 setup that gets quite heavy. I am interested in the weight savings as far as not sacrificing tone. The GC at Indy here does not have it in yet that I know of.

Thanks for the help!

From the pictures posted of Friday night it looked like a Traveller 102P Cab 2X10 and a Traveller 151(P?) Cab 1X15 with a Little Mark 2 Head on stage.

there were 2 little mark II heads, a traveler 210 and a 15". Not sure if the 15 was the standard or traveler. It killed.

Thanks for the info guys.

Jack, is there anything that you do not like about your new rig or things you would change?

Don't know why they didn't want to sell the demo unit to you Saturday, kdsi44.

They sure didn't have a problem selling it to me today.

They are going to get me a NIB one as soon as one comes in though and I'm switching this one out for it.

Travis, I sure hope you're right about how this LMKII sounds with the Bergie HT322. :D

Even Mr Stanky is now having a couple MarkBass/Bergantino thoughts.

Thanks Travis. It was really great to finally meet you and Andrew in person too.

I always consider it one of my duties in life to be a good host when someone comes to my town to visit. I was more than happy to be chaufer/tour guide for you guys.

You up for Snuffer's this weekend? I could sure go for some more of those cheddar fries. ;)

shoot Larry. you should've come up to Arin's room to hear the little mark thru Paul's berg 12. Was sweet sounding.

Yeah, but I had to go home and pick up the wife for the big shindig.

I'm thinking I will definitely sell the GBE1200 (gig amp) and the GBE400 (rehearsal amp) may be leaving too.

This thing is so light, there won't be any problem transporting it to rehearsals and gigs.

Larry -

You have a 322? How long until you run out of cabs/rigs to try? At any rate, I just got a MusicMan HD-500 (MarkBass by any other name) and would love to know what it sounds like on a 322, WITHOUT buying one first. Hell, I'd like to hear my Mesa 400+ on one too . . . . so if you ever get bored . . . . .

Well, I missed all the fun down south, so I missed that MarkBass demo. However, I did get a demo of my own on the weekend.

I happened to catch Dan Ross and Michael Manring in concert. It was a small venue. Dan Ross was playing through the house. Manring was playing his silly little basses :) through a MarkBass 1x12 combo. Nice little unit, and sounded pretty good. I believe it has the Little Mark II as a head. Looks like his entire setup consisted of his bass -> Boss GT-6B -> MarkBass CMD121H. Pretty neat.

This makes me want to rush out and impulsively buy a Little Mark II.

Must resist!

:p

Maybe we can get together this weekend and you can do just that? PM me.

Paul and I were talking earlier today and I think he was a little shocked that I had purchased the LMKII right now. I told him that this was probably the most informed amp buying decision that I had made in quite a while.

I heard it being played on Friday night so I could tell how it sounds in a live mix. I played through it Saturday morning at GC. I heard it again Saturday night in a live mix. Travis told me how good it sounds through a Bergie HT322. Big Poppa gives it both thumbs up.

How much more sure could I be? And I have 30 days to make my final decision! :)

Larry. Those were simply amazing. I should have listened and got the small. I could almost make a trip to Dallas for more of those.

I was flat out stunned at what a lightweight mini powerhouse that the LittleMark II/Berg HT112 made. It was HUUUUUGE sounding despite its small size.
