The Dude dropped into Tucson with a little present.

I'm very glad I bought this. Jammed with NorM for a bit after getting it. Wow, does it force you to use your ears. Definitely gonna be a better player after I spend time with her.

How was the Mexican food?

Was excellent! Will have pictures up sometime tomorrow. We found a meatbomb platter on the menu that met NorM's approval. Don't remember what Steve ordered. I got the ol' shrimp fajitas. Got a margarita (or two). Came in a fishbowl. I feel a conspiracy coming on.

Something special about egyptian smoke and pau ferro.

I think that expression was, "Where do I put my fingers!?!"

So there are these cool little dots on the side of the neck to help out with points of reference. They are spaced out like a fretted bass except they are where the fret would be. So 1st dot is 3rd fret instead of half way between 2nd and 3rd fret. They come in handy but after awhile, you don't even need 'em. Fretless really forces you to listen to what you are playing. While jamming with NorM, I would use the dots to guess on where to fret, then slide to be in tune. After awhile, I found I wasn't sliding very much.

Don't let it scare you. I was a bt apprehensive. After playing it, it will be my main axe for a good while. Going to stick it out because I think it makes me that much of a better player.

I think it is python.

Yes, you need to try yourself a Bongo. Run, don't walk, to your nearest EBMM that stocks one. Not sure how to find that out in the UK but would be worth the time.

Too late for "no food pics," BP. That Bongo looks pretty yummy. :D

Sorry, was that corny?

That's a beautiful fretless, Tom. I've had my fretless Bongo for 2+ years now, and I love it more every day.

Whoah! Remnds me of my old egyptian smoke Bongo Fretless (mine was an HH).

Can somebody remind me why I got rid of my Bongo? I mean I'm excited about my HH Ray and my Dargie Delight 2-bnd and everthing, but they're not Bongos, you know?

I should have stopped with my fretted and fretless HH four strings. Sigh...

Either way, beautiful bass! Congrats!

Please No Cheesy Food Pix Please Please Please The Dude Pit Is Great For Food Pix!

No worries BP. Once I get pictures up, I simply provide a link to my website. then I invariably get an email from earthlink telling me I've eaten into 75% of my bandwidth for the month and the site will be shut down if it hits 100%. The joys of paying too much for too little.
