Just popped into my local guitar store (Donald knows them also)....http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk ...the Edinburgh branch, and they've got a gorgeous copper coloured sparkle Silo with black HSS set up and pearl pickguard. Maple neck and unpainted headstock. The serial number is in the 15*** range but no idea what vintage this is? Some dirt on the maple but not as much as a 19*** Axis they also have. It really is a stunning colour and in mint condition but I'd never come across it before. Is it genuine or a respray? I'll try and get picks unless Foggy has some stored away. If I wasn't saving for the maple Luke and JP I'd be seriously tempted. It plays fantstically well. If it is a genuine colour, how common was it? I've certainly never even heard of it!!!

No idea! Anyone got a photo to compare? It's a gorgeous colour whatever it is. Like Honey burst from a distance but you start to see the sparkle the closer you get. If I was in the market for a Silo, I'd have spent the cash, even though it was £999.99! But it was mint bar the maple dirt.

I think I played that one in the Glasgow store a few months ago. The pups are Rio Grande. Call "Big Bill" at the Glasgow branch and he will give you the lowdown (if it is the same guitar). say I said hi!

Hi Ali

here's one of a SR5 in copperhead bronze.very nice finish and the one you saw is maybe only the second or so I've heard of in th UK.

is it s/h or NOS. a grand seems steep for a regular s/h Silo whatever the finish.

Wow! This is the first time I recall seeing that color. I like that.

I think that would make a great Limited Edition Color!

the basses I've seen in this finish all seem to have the oxidised/distressed plate.I think it came as standard with this colour.Never seen a guitar though and I bleeb only a handful of basses were made before it was decided not to go ahead with it.
any other info/corrections welcome.
I like it a lot..would look great on a silo i think as the contours, plate etc are all similiar to the SR5

If it is Copperhead Sparkle those are cool!!! That color was a limited run or something and from what BP has said GC were the ones that sold them.

Copperhead Bronze is not a very sparkly color--not like the other sparkles. It's pretty cool, though. It seems to be most often found on some SR5s that only GC bought. So if you want a new SR5 with Copperhead Bronze, go to GC. I've seen quite a few in GC. It's pretty cool. I think there are only a hundred of them according to Dargin's post here: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17997&highlight=copperhead+bronze
