A couple of floyd questions on the Morse

Hi All,

I just got a new Morse in blueburst, I promise to post pics later this week I have a couple of questions :

1. How do I remove the trem bar? I notice there is a bolt locking it in place, but the bolt head is facing the other way(right where the saddle block is) and there's no way I can unscrew it.

2. The floyd is resting on the guitar's body. I'm afraid the body paint will eventually chip off or crack after a few times of floyd (ab)use. Is there some way I can avoid the paint from chipping?

Take the back plate off and you will see another screw

It won't chip, I've had mine for 10 years and it did over 1000 gigs with no problems

I wouldn't worry about the trem touching the guitar body. I use my floyd regularly on my Axis which has the same trem as your Morse. And I have yet to have any paint chipping or dents on the finish. Dive only is the way the trem was set up at the EBMM factory (resting on the body). Enjoy the new guitar....now lets see some pics.

IIRC, the Floyd has a pad on it to prevent damage to the finish-I'm probably wrong, though.

Thanks for the answers guys. I wanted to remove the trem bar as I usually just use a gig bag when carrying my guitars around.

Yep, there's no pad on my floyd. It's the bare metal resting on the body.

that is a sweet guitar mervin! i just bought one myself and i love it!!!

It is a sweet guitar. I find the neck is really comfortable and the body, even without contours feels great. And, the pickup configuration is just crazy
