20th Anniversary Silo in my possession!!

Hey Everybody,

Just wanted to show you some pictures of my new 20th Anniversary Silhouette. It is beautiful. And it sounds incredible. I know a lot of people have been praising the Silo for being a TONE MONSTER. But, I thought, how good could it be? Well, it's that good. It sounds amazing.

Unfortunately, I had to give up a BALL to get a BALL. I let go of my CherryBurst Axis SS. I felt a little sick doing it, but with my Axis coming in December and my Dargie JP also being on order. I couldn't justify getting the 20th unless I gave up something. Knowing these guitars are going to end up being prized possessions for their owners. And knowing this guitar represents a milestone for EBMM. I couldn't pass it up. Congrats to Big Poppa and his crew for making such and incredible instrument

Lumberjack hello! I am interested by this guitar with the key maple. Couls you take more precise photographs of the handle so that I see its thickness, because I play of the fast pieces and I don't know if the handle would be too large for me!

the neck is small, nowhere near the size of an ibanez neck. these silhouettes have very small C shapes, you could play as fast as you want on it!

Yes, and I also have very large hands, the fact that the neck is small will be perhaps awkward!

Thanks Glenn. It was a little tough to give up the ASS. It was beautiful. It had to be done. But, I see what I got in return, and I'm quite happy.

If you mean you want pictures of the neck, no problem. I'll take some pictures for you. It'll have to probably be Monday. My brother borrowed my camera last night and has it for the rest of the weekend. I can tell you the neck is fast. Robelinda's description is correct. I've got smaller hands so it fits like a glove. It's not as flat as a John Petrucci neck. Which is very similar to the Ibanez wizard necks. I think for you it would just be a matter of readjusting to the EBMM necks. I had to adjust as well. Before I came to the Music Man family, I was used to playing necks, like those found on Les Pauls...thick and chunky. All is well, now. If you are a bit of a guitar shredder, you should also look into a John Petrucci model. Like I said, the necks are really fast. It's a great guitar, too.

Ohh Jeff, you are going to love it. With the limited time that I've had with it, I'd say that it definately has a sound of its own. The pickups don't seem to be as hot as other EBMMs. Like the Axis for example. With the mahogany tone block, I was thinking it was going to have tone similar to a les paul. But it doesn't. The pickups are great. I had a chance to put it through my BOSS GT-6 and it handles the presets very well. It handles distortion very well. The low end does not sound muddy at all. I used some clean presets and it sounded very crisp and clear. That's the way I'd describe it. And it sustains really well, too. I've got a link to a Guitar World DVD review, that I think, Foggy put up not too long ago.

Thanks for the comments folks. I forgot to mention that I ran into Dave, who is another forum member, at the store. You know him as 58super. I didn't have a lot of time to talk, but it was nice to meet someone else from the forums.

The birdseye is amazing. I really lucked out. I'm especially glad it's on the 20th. It sets off the guitar, nicely.

Thanks for the compliment. I feel your pain. But, I'm really happy with what I've got. I've got two Balls coming within 5 months so I've got nothing to complain about. And if someone gets turned on to EBMM by picking up the Cherryburst, then it's a good deal all around.

I had actually seen Dave in there a few times, and when I was there working a deal for the 20th, I was talking to one of the guys about the Dargies, and Dave mentioned that he had a bass on order. A bongo if I remember correctly. So, I asked if he was on the forums and that's when he said he was 58super. Definately a small world. The website is www.theguitarshop.ca It's in the Port Credit area, like Dave says, but I think it's still officially Mississauga.
