What up, it has been a long time since my first post, but I have some information that will get anyone who is currently looking for a new guitar going.

Guitar Center, Arlington Heights Il, is blowing all of there current stock of music man guitars, out!!!!!!!!! First of all I am not aware if this is happening at all guitar centers, if this particular guitar center will no longer be carrying ernie ball guitars, or when the sale will end or what the exact circumstances are, what I do no is that I would not be posting this if the savings were not huge.Put it this way, I have never seen the cost of an axis sport even in the same area code, as what I saw today. Call them now, do a quick look up on their website for the #, since I live so close, I just drop in.

The facts: I was looking for a new amp, possibly Mesa, and to try the amp out I grabbed the same rosewood axis-non-trem that casued me to purchase my rosewood axis w/ trem from chuck levins:And I was floored, I will not mention the price, but WOW!!!!! They currently had, two rosewood non-trem axis, but buy the one w/ the dark neck, it plays and sounds much better, 1 Sil aniversary burst, 2 lukes dark, solid color, and 1 sub. All were heavily discounted. especially the axis. Just a quick note on the guitars, I did not pull down the sil, it was up high, but from a distance it looked beautiful, Bth Lukes were up high as well, but I did not see any damage from where I was, The sub had some rough fret work, put plaid and sounded excellent, The dark neck axis was great to play, and had exceptional sound, but I have seen, better looking ones, as far as the lighter axis, it plaid pretty well, the sound while playing acoustic was not as deep and rich, and I think there may have been a little problem w/ the treble pup shorting out. Give them a call, and make sure they actually walk out on the floor to get the price from the new heavily discounted stickers. Good, luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Clarification

The two rosewood axis, were The all rosewood neck w/ Rosewood top, axis super sports, not the axis sports. Sorry, I just re-read my post and noticed the error.

Quick Note

A Couple Of Other Notes, On The Two Axis, They Both Have The Compensating Nut, So They Are Relatively New, And When Compared To My Rosewood Axis, I Noticed That They Do Not Have The Same High E Slippage That I Am Dealing W/ On Mine, It Looks Like The Frets Were Cut A Little Shallower On The Edges, And The Nut Is Cut A Little Farther From The Egde Then On Mine.

Hey, that's good! I have a new respect for GC after hearing Marty, the CEO in Dallas. Very cool discussion with Marty, Luke. BP, and Dave LaRue. Great stories etc.

I am considering the Rosewood Axis, but just spent small fortune on in-vitro fertilization for my wife and I (wiped out savings). What do you guys think?

Might get the darker neck rosewood axis (great salesmanship there, Crazy Jay), but after talking to the guys at the store (via phone), I don't know if I'd trust them to send me the right one. Maybe Crazy Jay can get me the serial # of the dark one since he lives so close. Online inventory of that store shows two rosewood axis guitars, but both have same build # listed.
I love the Rosewood axis, BTW. I have played one and it is still on my mind; best feeling guitar that I've ever played. Still dream about that neck.

Damn it all!

So I call yesterday and the guy tells me the discount of the price of the guitars and it is excellent.
Today, my wife, being the sweetie that she is, gives me the green light to purchase it before the end of their "green tag sale" which ends today. She says, since I sold my Parker to help fund the in-vitro, and that since my playing is getting better, that I deserve the guitar that I want, especially at that price.
So I call to order the rosewood axis, and the guy, a different guy (this one actually works in the guitar area) quotes me regular price. I said, "Huh?". He then says, "I'll tell you what, I'll knock off $100 for you".
I tell you, I've been pretty close to getting one of these before on da'bay, and it just didn't happen.
Perhaps it's not meant to be.
I'll keep you guys posted.

Well, it's official. No sale on the EB's, or very little if any.
Oh well, I tried.
Perhaps Crazy Jay was, er, is, uhm, crazy:D .

Nah, it's cool. When they called me back, it was actually a 3rd salesman who called me. I'm not sure who's telling the truth: Crazy Jay, Tony(the first guy I talked to), Furo (or some weird name like that), or John.
My fault; should not have gotten my hopes up.
Some day fellas', some day. Right Foggy?:D

I identified myself being from Texas to see if there would be any problems with purchasing over the phone with creditcard. I'm thinking that perhaps, if there is/was a sale, there would be no way for me to verify as they are in Illinois. They may have considered this when giving me the price quotes.
