Ikaru, I think I wet myself a little in laughter of your previous post.

If there's ANYONE to be called rednecks around here, it's me, Travis, Jason, and John (and any other forumite south of the mason dixon line.)

You're just mad because we've got good BBQ and hot women.

Multiple Ernie Ball Music Man Basses

OK, I know those guys Im addresing now are gonna jump on me like hungry wolves, but still I gotta ask this...I often see that certain members lists their basses underneath their posts, and some of those guys having 3-5 musicman basses, sometime only difference being HH,HS,maple or rosewood, and ofcourse colour. Isnt that---at least---unnecessary? I know, again, that this is EB forum, and being huge fan of his basses (always been and will!!!), having SR5 myself, Im not against one or two musicmans, but unless youre EB endorser and they send you dozens, why not have different good basses for different sounds, feel, and look? Are you serious about your playing or only about your collecting?

Well 20 years ago I remember asking Eric Clapton, I see you only Play Blackie, is that your all time favorite and do you own any other strats, He said, Quote, this is my favorite all though i do own Many other Strats this one fits me well, tone, feel and weight. At that time I had about 250 Fender basses and 38 Music Man Basses and myself Played an old 58 P Bass and a 77 Burst Stingray, 99% of my time.

So if I have to sit here and explain to someone why i Now own 153 Ernie Ball Music Mans and a few dozen old Fenders then to me that's not worth MY time.
Simple , YOU WILL NOT GET IT NOR WOULD YOU UNDERSTAND.

IT'S LIKE MUSIC, YOU EITHER HEAR THE CHANGE OR YOU DON'T.
MUSIC MAN BASSES, you either hear the difference or you Don't.

I have 2 blonde Daughters, they both are blonde, they both are girls they both have samilar things about them yet some are very different.

So- 2 exact music man 4 string basses will sound a bit the same but will sound a bit different, both having Ash bodies, Both Maple necks.
One Day my friend we hope you too will get it or at least understand, Then you'll delete your silly Post.

Holy crap...I'm gone for a day & all hell breaks loose. :D

I had to chuckle because I have played at bars, weddings, and yes, I've played at 2 funerals!

Don't worry I wet myself all the time. Like Adam Sandler said "It's what all the cool kid's do".

You're just mad because we've got good BBQ and hot women.

I'M mad cause you have good BBQ, I live in Ohio. No good BBQ fer' a long ways. :(

We have hot women though. Sadly they all have good eyesight.:(

Ya know, the real reason I own multiple Musicman basses is because they are active. The more basses I own and use, the less often I have to replace batteries. I'm just thinking of the landfills--honest....

I usually officiate at funerals and haven't seen a bass there yet. Or do we mean the reception afterwards? Whatever is the case, I have insisted that my son plays my Stingray when it's my turn to go! I would just love to see my colleagues faces when he rips into a luscious groove:)

Oh, and by the way, what is all this nonsense about owning 5 basses. Nobody should be allowed on here unless they at least plan to own 5 or many more basses. Long live the madness!!!!:D

Band is doing well. Thanks for asking monkey. They have just recorded an album and are back down in your neck of the woods on 12th January at Mr. Lynch's complete with new bass player. It was my other son who is studying bass in London that I want to play at my funeral. Mind you his brother who plays the wee guitar with six strings can play as well. Oh hell, everyone can come and play - as long as it's a long time in the future.:)

Damn! A Wednesday evening. I usually work on a Wednesday evening. What happened to the other bass player? He was good.

Unfortunately, Bobby (pronounced Boaby in Jockland) couldn't commit to the long-term ambitions of the band and the parting of the ways was friendly. The new bass player, Joe, is a more than adequate replacement. All he needs now is 5 MM basses!:D

Mmmm been resisting the urge to jump on this feeding frenzy created by this poor misguided soul...but what the hell I'm not into dignifying his ignorance with a personal attack just going to offer MHO. I can only play one bass at a time but each of them have their own differences and as said here many times, we don't need to justify how we spend our $$$$ and where and why we play. Bass players and musician's are a brotherhood and respect and common courtesy for each other are something we should all strive to offer each other.;)

Good post. I own 15 or 16 guitars, and each one has it's own sound, vibe, feel. None are the same. The original poster is a sad, bitter person.

I feel sorry for him.
