Dear Guys..

I am sick and tired hearing this bull*** from my friend..

#1
He said that he bought his limited Musicman EVH for $3200 on 95.. He said that his guitar with Transgold color is only 26 in this world..

Ok, I know probably he got wrong info.. because the 26 EBMM VH that limited is Opaque gold not transgold..

My question is.. Since I dont know how much is the guitar cost on 94, probably anybody know how much is EBMM Van Halen Transgold cost during that time?? Is he lie or not? Ebay list the guitar is $2400-$2700..

#2
My other friend said "A friend of mine tried this OLP LUke and this OLP JP".. "He said that the quality of OLP Luke and OLP JP is not far different from EBMM Luke or EBMM JP"

Are u insane???

#3
Ok.. this is probably personal preference.. A friend of mine said, EBMM van halen is like earth and the sky compare to EBMM Axis.. Of course favor to VH.. Is that right?? Also.. Do you think that EBMM VH is the best EBMM ever?

Thank you guys..

They post in Indonesian guitarist forum.. I dont wanna a bunch of Indonesian people that need to be more familiar with guitar stuff become more lost with this fact.. Especially the OLP = or slightly less then EBMM..

I can't speak for #1 or #3, however, I have both an OLP JP and an EBMM JP and the quality of the EBMMJP blows the OLP outta the water. The OLP JP is still a great guitar for the price, but it is not comparable to the work of craftmanship and art that is a real EBMM.

I considered grabbing an OLP Luke as a backup, but when I saw them at my dealer's, I changed my mind. The pickup and neck routings were like the worst i've ever seen, I did not see any sense in spending a singe buck in that poo,r mistreated piece of wood - sorry.

Like Banger says, the pick-up routing on the OLP Lukes that I have seen are among the worst I've seen on any instrument at any price. However, one redeeming factor was the profile of the neck! It isn't far removed from my EBMM Luke. If OLP could iron out these defects, the OLP range could be a genuinely good guitar in it's own right.

That price sounds about right for that time, I didn't pay that much in Australia but they where expensive

I don't think they played an EBMM JP or LUKE before when they made those comments.
After you owned an EBMM JP/LUKE, you will think the OLPs are just really really really bad.

No contest.

you have to put this into perspective, OLP is just what the title says "Officially Licensed Product". Meaning EBMM has licensed these so beginners can get a taste for the real thing. They're not that bad, in fact the one's I've played where very good.

Yes, I get what you, in fact, I'm getting one just mess around with, new finish and some other mods that I don't want to do it on my other more expensive guitars.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I'm not dissing OLP, but am saying that if compared to the EBMM version, there's no contest between the two, and you can see that the quality is really really far apart. But, for the amount you pay for the OLP, I think they are the best bang for the buck.

But if anyone is getting one, please try it out first, as I came across few friends that have some good OLP JPs and some really bad ones. The neck isn't consistent too, some are nice and comfortable, some are not.

Barry, what's that you're holding in your avatar? That's not a all rosewood silo, is it?

Once in a life time chance with it, so I took couple of pics

I've played the Axis and EVH back to back and can't hear the difference, or tell any quality difference at all between them. They're both superb. Detail revisions in the Axis but that's all.
