I reeeeeeeally do love my #1 (DG Bongo5 HH) AND am happy as all get out that I did have the sense (maybe not my wife's ok..but....) to order a single H Bongo5 in DD!!!

and yes BP, the Dargie WILL stay stock!! [even though a waxed Bongo neck is outrageously good]

I've never owned a Bongo (hopefully that'll change when the sixers come out), but I have owned one SR4 and one SR5 that I've sold & then regretted.

I love Stingrays & selling it enabled me
to get another Ray!

I do regret selling my '95 Ray though.
But at least it went to Bill and Bill is
kind enough to flaunt it around here . . .
and indicate how much he loves honeyburst . .
on almost a daily basis . . .

So I don't really miss it . . yet . .

I started with a Bongo 4 HS, then added a 5 HS, a 4H and a 4HH.

The last three have moved on, but the 4 HS is still my main gigging bass.

I'm in discussion with DaveB about a Blue Dawn Bongo HS though .. and will probably have to sell on my blueburst Stingray to cover the cost (though it is a stunning colour)

I still have the first Bongo I bought, the Blue Pearl 4HH. I have bought and sold a Stealth 4 H/SC and traded a 5H that now resides with tk.

My next Bongo will be a 2007 LE 4H.

Bittersweet Bongos

I've owned 2 bongos. sold my 5 HH fretless w/piezo and still have my HSC-5.
I think about selling it because of a few deadspots that are very obvious to me
but not to others, but I won't go there now, in order to avoid getting blasted in this forum. I love the tone of these basses and the design. My bongo relationship is bittersweet at this time.
when the BFR bongo becomes available, i might consider it.

I MISS that bass. If I ever get a Single H Bongo again, Ill have to make it a keeper. Im an idiot for offing that bass.

I traded my Bongo, and then traded for it back less than a month later!

What a killer bass. Actually, the one year anniversary for my Bongo is coming up in the next week or so. I can't imagine life without it now.

BP, sometimes I do miss my Bongo and it's deserty goldy HHy goodness. My right hand could NOT get comfortable on the HH though. I WILL have a single H Bongo 5er sometime next year.

Ah. I must admit that the money I got for my Bongo went to my down payment on my DD HS SR5. Well worth it.
