why is it that in the sterling videos it was mentioned that the first position switch of the sterlings HS is in parallel, when in fact it is in series? whats the real deal. check this site and click in the sterling bass video with sterling himself

I believe the Sterling HS and HH are both wired in parallel. The single H Sterling and SR5 give you the option of series but I believe you lose that option with the two pickup models of those basses in favor of the coil switching.....

Yup, much confusion, but apparently they are in series. I can now hear, in my HH sr5, that it is in series.

Cliff, magnets have something to do with it. Sterlings and Stingray 5's come with ceramic magnets, while Stingray 4's come with Alnico.

Yup, I could have sworn i've heard people say that they missed the series option on the SR5 and Sterling HH-HS so I guess I just made the assumption they were in parallel........Guess you learn something new every day. IMO though what everyone wanted out of these 2 pickup basses was something different than what the single H Music Man basses had to offer. I think that's what EBMM gave us....so play it if you like it , but if you don't and really miss parallel that much then play a single H.
