Noob! I just got a EVH to go with a load of different guitars...each one has a job. I haven't got the thing in my grubby little hands yet but every Music Man guitar I've tried has owned...the neck being the biggest joy. My advice would be to stack 'em upo and try 'em out. One will shout louder than the rest.

yep its a great axe! used my Y2D last night at a gig, was on a cloud all night!

Rob, glad you're getting comfy with your Y2D. Is it true that there's no quacky tone, like what's in position 2 and 4 on a Silo Spec? And, which p'up options are you using most?

Yeah, there's no quacky tone. Pos 2 (Bridge HB+single coil) gives you a bit of pluck, but it's a tele pickup and too close to the bridge to deliver any real quack. Pos 4 (Neck+Bridge) is more of your standard H+H sound as well- crisp but not quacky.

With the standard Morse you have an added strat pickup- with that and a split bridge HB you can get a bit of quack. Takes some re-wiring though.

But- the thing about the Y2D/Morse is that they have their own thing going on - the pickups are unique and I find you really don't miss that sound at all. Can't speak for Rob, but I love the Bridge+Single (pos 2) sound a lot.

he just saying that the Axis is the step up of the EVH model which is true :)

This axe looks pretty similar to the one I have just sold the quilt is fantastic and it's in mint condition.

I have purchase a lot of guitars online and I have never been disapointed. I think people having such quality instruments are musicians and a musician will never rip off another musician :D
