I'm seriously not trying to start an argument, but what is the age of the average Ernieball.com member?

Dont Look Back is a cool tune though! Had more than enough of More Than a Feeling. but i guess so has everybody. I like the 2nd Boston LP more than the first.

Was around 13 when I heard this track "Don't Look Back". This song still brings shivers each time I hear it on the radio Killing track

thanks

Hey guys,
Thanks for the shout outs. I am NOT used to them as the "whipping boy" of rock n roll. haha
I noticed someone asking about how old the average person is on this forum. Good question. Who knows? Music is very subjective and everyone has a right to there own opinions. No need to flame ANYONE for there taste. Some guys are hard metal guys, some dig Steely EWF, pop music, jazz-country etc.. etc.. No one wins and nor should anyone. Ray Charles said once that there is only 2 kinds of music. Good and bad.
That doesnt help does it. hahaha
I think the most important thing to have is an open mind. MOST people write my band off as that horrific "rosanna-africa" band and NEVER bothered to listen to the 18 records we have out or whats on them. Sony records put out the pop tunes, they were hits but certainly NOT what we are all about and we got bagged as a "soft rock gay ass sh*t band" by critics. Hey, we are NOT everyones thing and thats way cool. You all would be VERY surprised to see my iPod and whats on it ! I love great players of every style. Why not? Its always amazed me that in certain groups of people you could get "called out" by your peers for liking something THEY dont, or dont think is "cool". Stay open cause if you so you will find great music in the weirdest places.
For those of you that think that if you are over 40 or 50 that you cant or shouldnt play music anymore just remember .. someday YOU will be that guy. Stay young at heart and play alot and have fun. life is too short for bull**** rants and net arguments. I rarely jump in cause SOME people on other sites start to fame and put dopwn and insult..whatever.. but this forum is great for being truthful without being an asshole. haha
Hey I know I suck but I still wake up and practice almost everyday and got 32 years getting paid to play the guitar. A great job....hip or not.
Again, thanks for the kind words guys and I look forward to more interaction as I am now home after bein on the road ALL year.

Luke nicely put. I try to teach my daughters this and it's paid off, they listen to everything.

Good post Luke! I grew up in the 70's and the macho thing then and probably still is metal or hard rock but I appreciated all types of music and it was a good era for that. FM radio was in it's heyday. I remember though trying to turn my buddies on to stuff like the Strawbs, Larry Corryel, old motown and I got flamed for it, but it never deterred me. I will never apologize for my musical taste, it's personal and if someone else doesn't like it, it's their problem.....they can listen to what they prefer.;)

No one seems to have mentioned that ultimate Australian guitar band yet...

The Wiggles :p

Hey! They were the TOP grossing act last year, so they're laughing all the way to the bank! :D

I have to admit that I know most of their material because my kids are 4 and 3. The lead singer is done though, he's got some chronic illness so he's stepping down and they're supposed to replace him! Isn't it sad that I know that?

I know - I'm late - I slept through this thread.

I do have a favorite band.

When you've listened to their stuff 10-20% of the time and never get sick of it. . . .

When you fly 1000 miles to see a show . . .

When you have all the side projects of all the members . . .

and all the bootlegs - official and 'un' official . . .

When you play guitar and keys, and the band has your favorite guitarist and keyboard player. . .

And the best drummer in the world . . .

And a bass player who's runs are quicker and more intricate than most guitar players . . .

No hard rock/metal/fusion/prog band has ever come close. . .

Dream Theater

Unforunately a large portion of radio sucks for me - most of what I listen too isn't on the radio . . .ever.

I hate corporate radio - you know the station - they play the same steely dan song at 9:43, followed by some burned out jock talking about some contest, then the same old tired Lynyrd Skynyrd song at 10:02. . .

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I usually listen to talk radio (yea - I'm a bleeding heart conservative) , oldies, classical, jazz (not smooth yuppie crap - real jazz), or country.

Our local Metal station sucks too.

I wish I could say there was something I wanted to crank up on the radio these days. . . .maybe I need to invest in satelite radio.

At least you have classic rock radio stations! We dont have them here! NOBODY ever plays Ozzy or AC/DC on the radio!
