I always liked his playing and sometimes his tone. Alot like Warren Demartini. Another good one.

I'm a Dokken fan (the band, but I'm not a huge fan of Don's vocals).

Love George Lynch's playing, especially on Tony MacAlpine's "Maximum Security" album.. he did a track or two, one was "Tears of Sahara".. awesome stuff.

So what's the question, anyway?

Dokken were awesome.
George Lynch has been (was) one of my favourites since the mid 80's when I was just a kid. Back for the Attack was the standout for me, with some sublime stuff by GL. (Mr. Scary, Kiss of Death, Night By Night)
Don Dokken's vocals would get on the nerves a bit sometimes, but he could reproduce it live. Check out the live "Beast from the East" stuff.

I went to a George Lynch / ESP Guitars demo earlier this year, and was pretty disappointed. He didn't warm up and was pretty rusty....... and the sound was awful.

During his time, George went from the stereotypical Glam-hair skinny dude to a muscle bound hulk...... and I reckon he became more obsessed with the way he looked than how he played. Hands went from being things of finesse to strong, bulky, cumbersome slabs. His recent stuff is pretty woeful by comparison.

He used to wear his guitar quite high to maintain technique (like JP), and then it got lower, and lower (the image thing). There's one vid of him playing Mr Scary with it SO low he really f*&ks it all up.... until he puts a foot on the monitor and gets the axe into a playable position.
Check out past videos on youtube etc for the transformation.

Man, I've rambled here........ Brent, it's probably nothing to do with what you're after, but hey !!

I had all 4 models at one time and they are great guitars. You'll be impressed. The graphics kill.

As for Lynch himself - dude can't play anymore. That "rust" mentioned earlier isn't rust - he's just bad now. I went to see him at a local dive bar here two years ago and ended up walking out. He was slobbering drunk and couldn't play a lick.
