Foggy, very nice, and when was the order placed?? I like the mockup you did man it looks like it's gonna be sweet. Now is that non-piezo??

This is a very long story. I'll try and keep it short.

When the Dargies were first announced, I looked into them with Pete D (Psychicpet). The price was good, but the additional cost for a "green" guitar just wasn't happening for me. Then the ordering window opened again. I proceeded to drive myself crazy over the green guitar, and dismissed it a second time.
So in September, there was a thread where some forumites asked me the exact specs I would be considering, in case they came across something.
Well I get a pm from Scott Forbes (Lumberjack) who happens who's known all the details all along the way. He tells me of a friend of his at an EBMM dealer that has some incoming EBMMs, and that I should give him a call.
So I call him and dismiss some of the items due to configurations or colour but we continue to talk shop. He's ordered a DD with the exact specs I wanted and it wasn't spoken for yet. I tell him I'll think about it and call him back.
Weeks pass......
I can't say I ever wanted a green guitar!
This is what sold me:

(1) I already knew how many of these were going to be built! 1 of 4 Silo H-S-H with trem. This is very attractive.
(2) The Dargie's are not an LE, they're a 1 time deal! I can get other guitars later.
(3) I think the biggest seller for me was the fact that the entire Dargie concept seemed to have stemmed from the forum, was marketed only to the forum.
They were not included in the price increase, and as it is I'm sure BP and company are not making a killing off these guitars. I believe it to be a special offering from BP.

Even though I have not had the opportunity to meet any forumites, this forum is a very special place for me. It's kinda like the Cheers bar, where everybody knows your name.

With all that, I was meant to have a DD Silo.:)

ps: There's no piezo. I'm saving this for no.2. It'll be my selling point in case I receive resistance from my wife!

Dave I'm sure that if you wanted one you might be able to locate one. Call CS and see if they can help you, if you really want one.

Man, I am absolutely floored..........never thought I would see the day that Foggy actually got a EBMM and a limited to boot. Congrats Foggy but I'm going to miss teasing you about not having one. Well, we still have a few months left because as you know no pics, no guitar.........................:D

Well, well, well.:D The cat is finally out of the bag. Foggy, do you realize how hard it was keeping this from the knuckleheads. I even poked fun at you, knowing that you were 95% sure you were going to get your first BALL. I'm always glad to help out a fellow knucklehead. When our Dargies arrive, we're going to have 2 very special guitars up here in the Great White North.

Later,
Scott

Holy friggin' crap! This is truly a great day in history. This whole 'Foggy get a guitar' thing has been a running gag since before I joined the forum in early '05 (at least I think it has  ). What are we going to talk about now? :p

Seriously, congrats Fogman. You made a GREAT choice!

Now you need to bequeath your pictures database to the next person in line who's been planning to buy. ;)

Hey Beej,

No, it wasn't The 12th Fret. It was The Guitar Shop in Mississauga. I think they ordered 6 or 7 Dargies. I had to put the downpayment on my JP when I found out they had one on order. Cause it was the only one they ordered. Didn't want to miss out on the chance to own one. Glad Foggy is getting one, too. I like to spread the love around. Cause the 2 or 3 shops that I go to on a regular basis are really good stores.

I'd have to ask my buddy Mike at THE FRET. I don't think they ordered any Dargie's(not 100% sure, though).

Well very cool! If they're all in at the same time, maybe we can arrange to meet at the store ... I'd love to see Foggy get his guitar and it could be an impromptu forumite gathering :)

Technically, we have until March. Until it's in his hands and we have pictures. He doesn't own a BALL. With the downpayment, he only owns part of a BALL:D

This will be the first time anyone will be able to steal his picture.:p ;)
