It's easy to do, just take the strings loose from the tuners, you don't have to pull them off the bridge. A very little bit of lemon oil goes a long way! wipe off the excess, put the strings back on the tuners and play. Or, do this the next time you change strings, do it then. I guess I do this once a year, it's not a big job and it will keep your fretboard health for a very long time.
