Im interested in getting a guitar that has 1 bridge humbucker and 2 single coils. (Dimarzios are prefured). With a Lo-Profile-ish trem. It doesnt have to be a Floyd. Any trem that has the 2 anchors instead of the 6 screws is fine! In either White or Sunburst finish with a 3 ply-pearloid pick guard. Locking Schallers. That guitar pretty much screams the Silo Special. Now for all of you that have one. How does it compaid to a JP6? Such as.....

Neck size
Fret Size
Pickups sound
Tuning stability
Trems ability to dive and pull up and stay in tune
And average cost. ( New or used is fine as long as its not a beater;) )

Post pics too please!!!!!!!

Thanks guys!

Yes you are thinking clearly now! The Silo Special is a super axe!

It has smaller frets than the JP, WAY smaller, normal size really.

Tuning is superb, it is made by EBMM after all.

Pickups are the best thing, vintage stratty blues, shred or metal, 70's rock, country, it does it all.

Trem works great, mine is set to dive only, i dont see any need to go up, i try to play music after all. most of the time i dont even have the bar in.

I'm busting for the DD Silo Special- bring on March!

Most comfortable playing and versatile sounding guitar I've ever played. I don’t use the trem much but it stays in tune very well. Neck is a moderate C shape, a bit beefier than the JP from what I understand, but very easy even on smaller hands. You can find them online, used, between $6-750, which if in decent condition is a steal. Discussing new prices here is a no no, I think.

I gotta tell you. I had 4 Fender Lone Star Strats (with the 2 single coils and the humbucker in the bridge), and after getting a Silo Special I am selling them all off. Well, maybe I'll keep one.

Mine is my main guitar, I was an axis player for years but then I got a hold of the silo special and I pimped it out with new pups and its my #1. the frets are not small at all, they just arent as tall as the pets, but they are taller than the lukes - and like rob said it really covers every style of music, I was in a studio recently with a local artist who does hip hop to metal the clean stuff, I brought 3 guitars and the silo special was the only one I used that afternoon on the record, get one now -

I have owned a hardtail silo special and one with the wilkinson six screw trem. They were both amazing guitars. I didn't care for the Grover top-locking tuners so much , but they worked. I loved the wilkinson tremolo bridge. Mine never really went out of tune, and the sounds that came out of them were amazing. I was sad to have to let them go, and I am soon going to be in the market for one again. You won't go wrong picking up a Silhouette Special. I especially liked the feel of the maple neck + maple fretboard.

Ok so after thinking about it. Here is what I have been thinking......

First off. I wanted to up the size of the frets in my JP6. But I think Id just rather get a new EBMM Non JP and mod that to the moon.

Here is what I want to do.

1. Have Dunlop 6000 fret wire installed
2. Dimarzio Tone Zone or D-Sonic or humbucker from hell for the bridge
3. Chopper or YJM for the neck and middle
4. Schaller Locking tuners with the pearl buttons (same as the JPs)
5. Pearl Oid Pick guard
6. Same toggle switch as the JPs and in the same spot.
7. 1 Volume. No tone!
8. Dimarzio Clip Lock Strap
9. Graphite Nut and Saddles
10. Tremol-No

Now Im guessing thats near 3/4th the cost of the guitar. Now I have to sell an Ibanez and 1 or 2 of my Carvin custom shops for this. Now I do like the EB more (ok ALOT more) But Id rather not sell 3 nice guitars for 1 nice one. What should I do?

Do any of you know where I could get a fret job done for it? I want the Dunlop 6000 frets. I can get the frets but there isnt any one near me that I trust to do the job. :(
