No way!

Fantastic. You will really love that.

Any plans for you to get in a band in Sydney, or you already in one?

Those basses really show their true colours in a band setting.

Let us know what you think when you have played it.

Thanks, I'm sure I will, given I already have a taste for mahogany basses :)

Nothing yet, and I'm not in a real hurry at the moment. Moving from one country to another and selling and buying houses takes up a lot of time and energy, especially with Aussie Jr #2 due in 2 months. I'll woodshed at home for a little while until we're settled into the Sydney lifestyle.

My first task will be to decide which flats work best on it. I like Chromes on my fretted Stingrays, but I'm thinking that the extra growl of the 30th may go better with TI's. I've never tried EB Flats, so I may need to buy a set of those and give them a shot as well.

hehe, I know how you feel mark! After months of seeing them, I decided that I couldn't pass up the classiest stingray ever made, so I just ordered me a unlined fretless 30th.
I really think the 30th is the finest looking ray I've ever laid eyes on....especially unlined! It truly is the most sultry and sexy looking axe to come outta SLO.
I hate to say it, but I'm very glad that the 20th SR5 doesn't appeal to me, so I was able to order me a 30th right before the new year!

If you haven't tried TI's before, whatch out! They're very low tension, so compared to anything else it feels like playing a wet noodle. It really screwed with my right-hand technique. YMMV.

im still waiting for more photos mark... :p

and can someone recommend some strings for my 30th. I'm a big slap+pop/thumb style player but need something that would be able to go well with finger style playing in a rock band situation as well.
