Congrats Sluggo and welcome. I have the same bass ... my first EBMM. I have had it for just over 1 month and love it just as much now as when it first arrived.

I guess I've been in LaLa land!!

I saw this bass on Bass Central's website.....had to see it.....went to see it.....had to play it.....Played it....had to have it!!!

I realize now that all of my "tone shaping" pedals are no longer needed!! The on boards on this bass are unreal!!!

Other than the looks...obviously.....what are the differences, to you, between the SR and Bongo? I am guessing the electronics are different.....but in English(or Swahili)....what is different, tonally?? To me....the SR is THE sound that I imagine when I think of bass. I am into everything from Beatles to Stanley Clarke to Tool and , so far, I have been able to dial in the sound for each. (Maybe a little strech for McCartney!)

When you play a bongo you may stand out of sight and everyone will come to the stage after the gig to try and find out just what bass it was they have been hearing all night.

Most folks think mine looks cool. I never heard but one person call it ugly around here(KS) yet.

We go to work on ya fast around here. :D

Mother in Law.....too funny.

Yeah....I see that you "Bongo-ites" are worse than Hare Krishnas trying to convert the masses!!!! I'm gonna enjoy my SR....and although I'm sure I will never have GAS again......I will consult the gallery about a Bongo if curiousity catches me. (I do need a new 5-er though!!!)

Wellcome from newbie to newbie:D
I have 1991 Stingray 5 and 2006 Bongo 4HH and I love both in different way. Bongo has bigger sound and more tone variations. I love my Bongo but I am looking for trade to 5 string Bongo but so far no offer. I may have to sell my Bongo to get Bongo 5 so if you are looking for Bongo 4 in near future let me know. Mine is only one month old and in mint condition:)

How did that analogy go? Sterling cuts like a Ginsu knife through sushi. Bongo cuts like Godzilla through Tokyo? Something like that...
