The GC in Cherry Hill has one. Only had a few minutes to check it out, but the neck is sweeet. Felt like it weighed about 9 or 9 1/2 lbs.
Set up was not good and it had greasy paw prints all over it, but $xxxx seems like a good price, no?

$xxx is good if you are a collector, and want the 30th in your collection. If thats not important to you, get a regular one.

- or if your good at talking to em', $800 out the door w/ case lol

Great basses
It is a good price I think they retailed for $2500 and not just for collectors I play mine everyday at the moment

Jimbo, check your PMs for some relevant info. The 30th is THE best Stingray ever built, as far as I'm concerned.

BTW, edited the above to take out street prices.

Thanks for your understanding.

it is def. the best/classic stingray I've ever seen.
I get the feeling that in 30more years people are gonna say,
"WOW, what was I thinking not getting one of those!?",
but right now everyone is all enamored with 2pup models (which are great), but I think a lot of people ignored the sexiest 1pup ray ever built

I have to be honest... I really want to like the 30th, because it is stunning to look at and sounds great. But I hate that gloss neck. If only it was the regular satin finish, I'd probably own one.

But again, that tone is just... monstrous.

You could always steel wool the gloss off the neck, if you really want one.
Me I love the gloss. I come from a time when Musicman's only had gloss necks and it just feels right at home. I hate the way the oil/wax necks turn dingy-dirty.

I get the feeling that in 30more years people are gonna say...
I'd give it 5-10 yrs and people will be trying to snatch them up. Look at the 20th SR4, talk about holding their values.

+1. I haven't played (or owned) as many Rays as many of the board members here, but I can't imagine a better combination of beautiful woods, impeccable finish and monster tone than the 30th.

I played a 30th SR this morning, and liked it so much that I played it again later this afternoon! Now I want to take one home.

That's basically what happened to me, Pete.

I am not suggesting that you use my actions as any sort of guide, however.

Because next thing you know, you'll be wearing a cowboy hat or something.

Many GC's never got the message out on these and I keep going into stores and they are smudged and need a truss rod tweak and the guys tend to dump them....People who want a 30th might just find a neglected nuggett in a GC

There's one at my local GC (Rancho Cucamonga) that is the victim of much neglect. I've had my eye on it for a while and I'm hoping to take it home with me someday:)

I've always liked mahogany as a body wood for lots of growl. I've never tried a 30th but can only assume that the growliest bass on the planet with a mahogany body must be a complete beast. :D

And there was me thinking I had got rid of that GAS. :)

It is a beast for sure, it is fun to let it come out of it's cage to play;)
