g.a.s. gear. acquisition. syndrome. It means that you see a new bass, and just have to have it at all costs. Usually guys and gals who are married have it the worst, because they usually suffer cost and consequence for g.a.s. I know I do. I get gas from onions, but g.a.s. when i go into a music store.

What is GAS?

Something I seem to have a chronic case of... and believe me, it stinks worse than the other kind!

GAS = divorce if you are married most likely.

:D

Easy solution for that:

1. Separate bank and credit card accounts. (1 joint "baby" fund or something is acceptable)
2. When the wife asks how much you spent, the answer is ALWAYS half of what it really cost.
3. Buy her something nice every once in a while out of nowhere. It's like a "Jedi Mind Trick".
4. When buying new gear, usually tell the wife that it's just "replacing" something else that you will list on ebay or something. Then you obviously "forget" to sell that other item.
5. You are usually going to be in trouble for something anyway, so it might as well be for something really good!

Hope that helps!

Just bought a new SUB 5 about 6 weeks ago. Then two weeks ago while starting to look for a new amp to handle the 5 low end, I tried a SR5 HH and got a serious case of G.A.S. on the spot. It's a good thing to be broke right now or would be sleeping with the dog. Pepcid AC dosen't fix this kind G.A.S.

Just when I think I am content, I see something else that I want and the worst thing is that my wife says that if I want it just to get it.

good for my collection, not for my bank balance.

I know that some of the guys here have serious double or triple digit collections but I have always been used to having 1 or 2 at a time.

I have 5 just now - 3 of them EBMMs
