Hi,

I bought my first Music Man a few weeks ago, an Axis Sport new from
the local dealer. It was a new guitar that evidently hadn't sold because
of a ding/chip from the lower body front.

Wow what a guitar! I love it.

But when I went to pick it up from having it set up I held the
Steve Morse for the first time. They had it in the warehouse
and not on display. I troubled them to get it out of the warehouse.
Oh Gee. I wish I had gotten the Steve Morse. I still like the Axis
but I'm limited on space and funds. I'm stuck with a hard decision.
Do I sell the Axis and get the SM and then want to go back to the
Axis. I really like the Axis neck but the SM with the 12" radius ooh
I've never felt a neck this nice in my life. Anybody have both
guitars and can comment on the pro's and con's of each. Remember
for me having both is not an option. I'm also being tugged by
upgrading instead to an Axis Super Sport with piezo option. But
I like the neck better on the SM. The shortness of the Axis is incredible.
I've never had so much fun playing a guitar before. It's a blast to
hold.

I saw on MF they offer the SM in both the Blue and also in Black.
Has anyone gotten the black SM? Do you like the black?

If I had only found the music man guitars years ago I could
have spared myself a lot of painful near misses that are gone now.
:)

Thanks!

Welcome man, glad you found the place.

Post of pictures of that Sport, let's see it.

Can you return it an upgrade? Some places have a 30 day return policy.

I'll take pictures this week

It's raining here today. When the sun comes out again
I'll get some photos.

It is dark purple finish and has a pretty big chip knocked
out of the front of the body and another nick behind
the third fret on the low E string. But neither affects
the playing. I got a huge discount. I had only gone
to look but when I got the low price offer I left with
the guitar. :) First really decent guitar I've owned.

I got both and I'm partially to the Morse but since you got a great discount, I would say, keep for now the axis and save to get the Morse latter.

My Morse was my first MM (in blue by the way) and the one that turn my face to these instruments, The Morse has great tones but is a little more difficult to learn were it is everything.

Just get both....eventually... is very difficult to decide between so wonderfull guitars.
