I'm a new member of the MM family!

Just picked up a shiny new 4 string Sterling HS in natural with tortoise shell pickguard. This thing plays and feels as nice as any bass I've ever put my hands on. There isn't a tone I can't get. Intonation from the factory a study in perfection. I'm still getting used to this beauty so my playings a little scuzzy right now. Anyway, I couldn't be happier, and have to say that Music Man knows how to do it, and do it right! -Fish

Just have to lighten up my left hand attack a little-the action on this thing makes my Warwick seem like an unrefined pos. I developed a very heavy hand over time on the old bass, so I'm really going through some adjustments-trying to play with physically less force. I really don't want carpal tunnel moving forward. Ergonomic requirements are what led me to this bass-my old one felt like a cinderblock with a strap and four strings. Better for a Sopranos episode than a four hour gig. I'm not a big guy, so the neck relationship to body on a traditional fender style bass is better for me than the Warwick style neck that is waaaaay out there. It was really killing my left hand and wrist , and forearm, too. Damn Oh well, a few bucks later and I have one of the nicest playing basses out there. I love this thing! -Fish

The few Warwicks I have played were totally uncomfortable and I said to myself "why would anyone want to play something that feels so awkward"

Some people obviously like 'em though.

Congrats brutha! I'm a Sterling believer as well, having recently purchased a Sterling H... and it is awesome. EBMM totally has their bass act together. Now I need a HS one just like yours!

If you are playing to heavy, then try this. Crank your amp up as much as you need, and just play lighter. Let your fingers control your volume, and you won't be having to dig in so much to fight the other "musicians" you play with.
Some people claim EBMM Basses aren't good for jazz, because the sound is to aggressive. These are the people who have little control with their right hand.
Watch out though man, hang out here long enough...you'll be broke.

I only own one... for now The plan is to get a HS Sterling as soon as I can afford one, tho upgrading my amp comes first!

You may THINK that one will do for now, but check out some of the pics in the sticky at the top, and the new BFR 20th Anniversary SR5 - only 10 of these will be made compared to the limited run of "regular" SR5 20ths. Quick follow up of first rehearsal

By the way guys, I think I'm loving this bass more daily. I'm in a horn band that plays a lot of the night in F so it can get very uncomfortable. I rehearsed for a solid two and a half hours with absolutely minimal fatigue. After getting home from last nights practice, I wanted to bust the bass out and keep on playing. I feel born again, for real!! -Fish

I'm the same way with my Stingrays, fishcat. I'll play a 4-hour gig in a smoky club, be dead tired when I get home at 3 A.M., and yet I'll still sometimes pull out the 'Ray one more time for a few notes before I go to bed!
