Listen you guys need to know how hard everyone has been working and not sleeping so if they didnt post yet it is because it is probably still in set up.

Please everyone dont react anymore when someone complains about a price when we havent announced one and calls guitars cheesy that they havesnt seen or played. Pics are really hard and these are just seak peaks because we are actually working our asses of to get ready for a show that determines our year. When we get more time we will post cleaner photos. Wish us luck.....I remember the dismal sparkle year...we were so excited and thought we knocked the cover of the ball and we pooped our pants....

I thought you did knock the cover off the ball... I think some of those sparkles are way too cool... It's the generaly guitar buying public that doesn't know what they are doing. LOL :)

I've wondered about the price thing.... I keep reading people say.. "oh man, that thing is gonna cost 4 grand." lol. A lot of guesses about price, and all guessing super high so the surprise will be that it's lower than expected. LOL

Man, when I look at these and think, "the only thing that I wish are the scoop, and a purple stain", for such a redesign of the guitar, I can't imagine that you didn't knock the cover off the ball with this one... it's just a wonderful looking instrument with the same spirit of the other JPs. I can't wait to hear one, and someday acquire one.

EDIT: I wanted to add re the arm scoop... I think people should consider that the lack of arm scoop is probably a compromise we would all prefer cosmetics wise... to scoop that out with a maple top would mean scooping throught he maple to the alder.... would look a little strange to most of us.

I for one would just like to thank the All at EBMM for sharing this stuff. I would also like to add that I have seen one particular guitar that they pictured and then seen it in person at it was way different. Now I am not saying anything bad about the way they take this pics, so please don't take it this way, it is just that maple wheather it be flame of quilt, does change with light. Just look at the pic of the F1 proto and then look at some of the pics of John playing it live and you can defenetelly see the difference.
Anyway just my 2cents.:)

I thought the sparkles were fantastic. IMO, they were some of the prettiest guitars you guys have made.

I felt that you guys had pushed the envelope. Hope you guys get alot of orders and interest at NAMM.

Quick question:

I understand that the four colours shown/discussed will be all that are available initially. Are there any plans at the moment to introduce a sunbursty-type finish similar to the ones we have seen JP playing recently later on?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Good luck at NAMM tomorrow guys - hope you get lots of positive feedback.

Can't wait to see some BFR Sterling love or some Albert Lee love! I really appreciate you guys showing us these before everyone else - it's this kind of thing and the personal attention that really makes this place special. In return, I'll try and commit to helping towards the purchase of a new pair of shoes for BP this year ;)

I love this place.

(and yes, I have been drinking) :D

robelinda,

that may be correct.. but I thought I also remembered Jongitarz talk about experimenting with different products for the wax/oil treatment on some non-maple wood, and they ended up using the same birchwood-casey products?

Ahh, someone 'official' will set us straight soon enough..:)

That was when we first came out with the rosewood necks. The F-1 has a finished neck, and we do use the same oil/wax on all the non poly necks.

1) The signature models will be ongoing. We will also do "special runs" when we come up with something cool. The JP BFR is fully loaded, what you see is what you get. We will post the flyers with the specifications shortly.

2) The Petrucci and Luke will be available in all four colors shown in the teaser thread. Color is the only option for these models.

Check with your preferred dealer on Thursday for pricing. All BFR's will have "10" tops. We no longer offer the upgrade top option. The pictures are quite compressed to fit onto this forum, so maybe the tops don't "pop" as hard as they do in person. These tops are also stained...

I don't know if I miss something but 2 kinds of maple top + 4 colors =8 differnt tops not 10.

I know if you missed something... ;)

"10" tops does not equal a number of colors/kinds of tops... it equals the GRADE of the wood. IE... grade A, AA, AAA, AAAA at some place like Gibson, Mcinturf, etc... PRS and EB use number grades with 10 being the highest.

I thank you that you update my knowledge. I'm not used with some therm here and my english is not as well as I wish it would be.

I would wish that they have a surprise with a sunburst color like the one that John Petrucci has playing lately.

Just thought I'd say that the Black Burst JP6 is the most badass guitar I've ever seen from any guitar manufacturer, ever.

Oh, and this thread wins the internet. Superbly awesome job to those who put in those, no doubt tiresome, hours to craft these magnificent specimens of guitars.

Thumbs way up!

You're welcome. I had a feeling English wasn't your first language. What I didn't mention, that I think caused your confusion, is that they were talking about the fact that EB used to have a regular quilt or flame, and an upgrade flame. Like maybe an 8 for the regular, and a 10 for the upgrade. They're just doing away with the option of going up to a 10 by making them all 10s. The result has been assumed that the price for any maple top is the upgrade price, and not what was the regular price. I haven't seen any pricing lately, so I'm not sure if that is or isn't the case. The reasoning behind it though, is to decrease the options, thus decreasing contruction costs, so maybe they did this and managed to budget it without a price increase.

Did someone can tell me what is the fonction of push/pull for the coils and what it use to activate that???

On the JPMs?

The JPMs split the coils by just switching the 3 way toggle to the middle position. There is no push pull pot. The Piezo has it's own knob and 3 way switch.

All the new finishes look awesome, but I hope these dont go up over the 2500-3000 dollar range. I think a lot of us would find that a bit high, but who knows...maybe time for that second job at Mickey "D"'s....! We need some LIVE photos of these ASAP!!!:D

I cant imagine it would be any more than $2500, considering a loaded Mystic Dream is under $1900.

EBMM guitars have always been the best priced guitars on the market, in my opinion, especially with quality in mind.

Hopefully I'll be able to put in an order tomorrow for a BlackBurst.

I hope you're right. My guess is that we'll probably find street prices around the low end to the middle of that range, but what do I know? I'm just speculating. We might know something tomorrow with NAMM opening up. It is tomorrow, right?

If I may make an observation, the BFRs seem like BMW's M cars, Cadillac's V Series, Benz's AMG, or Audi's S cars. Even if they are out of reach of those who might afford the regular line of instruments, these instruments may have a halo effect, which may bring more people to try or to seek out regular EBMMs because of the reputation that BFRs may bring to the company.
