Hi all.

Just wanna know: How much mint conditioned EVH-signature model costs in these days? What is reasonable price for it?

Jommi,

Mick asked because those three colors were rare. They usually fetch the highest price.

eBay is the best resource for checking prices, since it's about the only place you can get your hands on one.

Those, depending on condition, can fetch anywhere from $1500 - 3000 US.

Since they are essentially collector's items, it's a buyer's market on EVH's.

The Axis is pretty darned close to perfect for what I need, and I don't see alot of extra benefit from buying a EVH instead. I've sold off most of my Fender stuff after drinking the MusicMan kool-aid.

Simple EBMM math

EBMM EVH = EBMM Axis

The Axis really did improve where the EVH model left off. And it essentially is the same guitar, minus a couple of cosmetic differences.

If you want to go after an EVH sig model, knock yourself out. Just know that the Axis you just purchased from larryandrews is the same guitar, build and tone wise.

i know, i feel like a wanker for spending those thousands of dollars on EVHs, when i could have had the same thing for about 1/3 the cost....i'm seeing things differently now

don't be that hard with yourself Brent you are an EVH (the group, not the guitar :D ) fan and I can understand you wanted such guitars.

Keep in mind that the most important is to enjoy playing guitar (Axis, or what ever)

When you buy a EVH you are paying for the 'vibe', that guitar has a vibe and feel like no other. The guitar ownes you instead of you owning the guitar :)

Axis is great too I must say and you can own that one ;-)

I want one more EVH....Help

Clearly, from a tonal standpoint the EVH and Axis will be as identical as guitars can be. There are always variances but in this case they will not be due to the model differences.

I've owned my EVH since '93 and can say that the Axis just feels slightly different to me. That's not a slam or anything else. I could understand if someone perferred the Axis to the EVH. No problem here.

But to me, my EVH has more of a broken in feel. Less of an off the rack feel. I'm splitting hairs and am not implying anything bad about the Axis other than IMO, it isn't quite like they are identical. But for $1k less, the Axis could easily be identical enough...

I'll keep my EVH though. :D
