I own my EBMM for nearly 3 weeks now and would claim to play better, more precise and faster than before.
It could depend on the fact, that I´m, of course, playing more with that new beauty. But it may also be, that a EBMM lets you become better. I´m pretty sure with my old gits, such playing would NOT be possible.

Did you make such observations too?

Playing Better

Banjo,

I would have to agree, I have had my Luke for a month now and while my playing still lacks greatly, I would say it has been better, got to be the BALL.

I would agree, that playing a nice guitar certinaly beats playing a crappy one...

but I'm going to say that it isnt the all the guitar, maybe its because you're playing more? I wish i had a guitar that gave me super playing powers but sadly it doesnt... keep at it, and before you know it, you'll be even better!

yep me too, its just nuts. when i got my Luke, i improved heaps, just with the tones i now had available, and the fact that the neck was so comfy i had to play it more!!! then i got the silo special and my world changed. fast forward 14 months and now my Albert has seriously changed things, its on another level.

I may not have my EBMM just yet, but I alreay know the answer!

Of course it makes you a better player! This is because they are so comfortable and easy to play.

When I first picked up a Pet (the first EBMM I ever played), I hadn't played in 11 years. I was amazed how effortlessly I could play. I could not put the thing down! I'd put it down, walk around the guitar shop, and came back to pick it up 3 or 4 times.
From that point I started to find out more about EBMM.
The rest is history.

Playing Better

ive yet to own any EBMM...maybe im just missing out.. :(

Jagged,

While it all comes from the heart and hands, EBMM makes it come together you must get a BALL! I owned and played some of the other guitars available including my brothers Les Paul Custom nice guitar but give me my BALL. Will have another by June.

Everytime I pick it up I appreciate what I have in my hands. Whenever I play one in public it makes me feel... well you know

I've always said my EBMM made me a better player. It was quite a step up from my old guitar, and the improvement in quality made it sound better and easier to play (better fretwork) which inspired me to play longer and longer and play more and more challenging pieces. I'm still not all that great but it was a marked improvement :)

Here's the skinny

I freakin so much ENJOY playing now with my balls, and I never felt that way before. I want to pick them up and play, they draw me to them. ... and playing is so so much more pleasurable.
I don't struggle anymore....

weird but true... ;)

(ok, so I've had a few tonight, but I said everything I meant....)

Would venture to say there's actually a lot of truth to this..
Thus indeed,,,, 'tis a fact....

The neck on the Luke allows for certain types of sweeps to be performed
much easier... In fact, when I play the Luke, often tend to overplay
simply because you can do it...

& frankly... it's so much fun!!

For me, a guitar must have sex appeal and feel, and it takes more than good looks to have that. There are many well made guitars out there, but how many actually inspire you to play more and enable you to play your best?

I think EB's are most of all sexy to play. Even the petiteness of them makes you feel bigger, more dominant and masterful. C'mon, ya know it's true. ;)

different?

I've had the same thing, though slightly different. I've had my Axis SS for about a year now and though I think I've definitely improved, I think the most drastic change is in style...

I owned an Ibanez-style Washburn before and was a complete shred-head (albeit with lacklustre technique!) but as soon as I got the Axis my playing became a lot more loose, fluid and even bluesy.

I think playing any great guitar can inspire you to play better - it's not magic, just a solid piece of equiment!
