Finally after a while spent working my way through the UK dealer list I found somewhere that had the SUB Sterling in stock, which I got yesterday. So I can officially join the EBMM Owners club :)

Utterly amazing bass too, plays brililantly, and sounds amazing. I was wandering how the active electronics would take to fuzz and am pleased to say it sounds awesome with the Big Muff

Still not sure on exactly what colour I have though, It was described to me by the guy in the shop as almost black, but greeny or browney depening on the light, and it looks more of a red to me, it has a glittery kinda of sparkle to the finish too which I wasn't expecting. Not sure exactly what it fits under on the colour list though, it's not really black, but I thought the cinnamon was a bit lighter in colour (though admittedly it is hard to photograph, especially indoors late at night...)

There is a SUB 4 at a GC in the Dallas area that is one of the best-playing basses I've ever touched. You people are not helping me resist temptation. My wife is helping me a great deal, though.

Resist the temptation? Don't be silly ;)

I gave the shop a call today about the scratches on it, and they sounded a bit surprised, but were very helpful and offered to send me up a couple sets of strings for the problem, so top marks to them, and I must say the setup of the bass is top notch too. so rainbowmusic.co.uk get a fairly decent review from me :) (the measure of a company definately seems not to be in how they treat you when they are trying to sell you something, but in how the react when something isn't as it should be)

I will admit that my Jazz bass still has its place on my guitar rack, so far there are still a few sounds I can get out of it that I haven't found in the Sterling, but then again the Sterling covers a lot of sounds the Jazz can't... So both still have their place with me, but I can definately see the Sterling taking up most of my time in the near future :D
