hi folks! My name is adam. I live in Toledo. Im 35 years old in a few weeks. I've been looking at this forum for about a little over a year and then some. I love guitars alot. Although i cant play that great, i still love collecting them! I have two peavey wolfgangs and a strat that i destroyed trying to get that evh(oops! i didnt mean to mention his name here. lol) look. I also have a ovation acoustic. I never really noticed ernie ball guitars, because ya dont see them in any music stores around here that i go to. It all changed one day when i seen evh with one. The look just blew me away! Ooops! i also forgot to tell ya what i play through. i have a 5150 half/slant. I always have wanted a ernie ball. I really like the head stock on them. they are not big and bulky. Just a much nicer look i think. I have never been able to put one in my hands because nobody carries them around here, oh u see alot of basses but never any guitars unless its a olp. Well, my time is finally arriving. Im waiting on my taxes to get back today or tomarrow then i am buying a axis(red quilt). I found one online. I cant wait to feel and hear the guitar!! Once i get it, i'll put up pics! cause i know it aint real unless we have pics! lol. Real soon i will have something i common with u folks! I'm glad to be here!! adam

Well considering they lifted that concept from EB I don't think you'll have any problems. I have owned both and rather the EB neck any day. You will find the same thing too. Welcome

Hello,
you will like this forum as a place of honest discussion with very fine people. all here love EBMM and show their love. customer service is a big sensation and that you can discuss here with Big Poppa and all the others is awesome. I don´t know, how deep you are into this forum right now. I discover everyday very interesting stuff with the search function. Older topics deep in the archives.

well i am not really new here but as far as posting goes i am. lol Ive admired ebmm guitars on here for a long time but never thought of posting because i dont own one yet, but thats about to change within the week!! woohoo!! I'm a big fan of music. All types. my first love is vh, but i love the blues! just picked up 10 days out from kenny wayne shephard and it is totally cool!! I am really starting to get hip to the blues. I really love Billy Gibbons. i really like his hotrodded approach to what it is he does!! I know i like luke too. Although i havnt heard and dont know alot of his music yet, i did see a little bit of him in the studio with a white luke just doing the thing he loves to do. it blew my freakin mind!! Some guy once said "thats why they call it musical theiry not musical fact!" and i believe that to be so true! I have so many dreams and hopes about music, and some may intrest u and some may not. lol For instance, is anyone here familiar with the muddywood guitar that billy gibbons had built for the delta blues museum? Well i think it would be cool to see ebmm do a version of that guitar on the albert lee!! painted neck and all! so there ya see i have a few twisted ideas of what i think is cool. lol damn im long winded. lol

a shop here in Melbourne has a used Wolfgang Custom Shop model, with rosewood fretboard, whih apparently is kinda rare on Wolfgangs. Not cheap either, but i liked it much more than the maple necks, the arched top was nice, but i would never consider buying it at CLOSE to 3 grand, USED!

Yeah. BFR is basically something that EBMM are doing to give us special guitars that sometimes only the artists get. It pretty much started with the 20th Anniversary Silhouette, which has an alder body, mahogany tone block, and maple top. John Petrucci really seemed to like the guitar when he was visiting Sterling's office. Then, boom. EBMM made JP a guitar in his guitar's shape using the composition of the 20th Anniv. Silhouette.

JP loved it. Then, BP made one for Luke.

Then, another prototype was made for JP.

Now, we have the JP F-1 and the Luke BFR. Photos of those can be seen in the NAMM and BFR threads that are going on right now.

A prototype was made for Albert Lee. Now, it seems that AL is getting a couple more.

oh and maybe im alittle premature in asking this sinse i dont even have my axis yet. I know you guys are tuned in to everything ball. do u know if they(ebmm) have ever thought of a silo version of the axis. ya know flat top with the cream binding and mating headstock with or without a pick guard?

I think the answer is yes. The prototype Axis Super Sport is in the hands of Tony Spinner in the pic of Luke above.

So, now, Big Poppa and the rest of EBMM are making sweet guitars like these for us, and they are calling them Ball Family Reserve guitars. The BFR Luke and JP are the first BFR models that are going to be available on a continuous basis. The AL is coming this summer. The ASS and the Axis? Well, I guess those may be coming too.
