hi guys,

as you know i love the rosewood neck a lot but i dislike the rosewood top.
now my question.
is it possible to change neck between ASSii easily. i think of buying a ASS mapletop and put the rosewood neck from a rosewood ASS on it.
thanks for your advice!

You're probably best off waiting for either someone from EBMM or at the very least one of the professional guitar repair types chiming in with a definitive answer but I can't see the problem.

They're both 22 fret necks right ?

I would imagine that despite the radically different woods both guitars would be made with the same templates/ cnc values so the neck pockets and neck heels and even screw holes should line up exactly.

I don't know where you'd stand from the perspective of warranties though.
There will of course still be an element of setting up the guitar afterwards so that's another question, is that something that you're comfortable with doing or would you take it off to a repair guy for that

One final thought. If you do do it and find yourself with a Rosewood body and Maple neck that you don't know what to do with please bear me in mind...:D

There was a thread a while back where someone swapped a Luke with an ASS neck. As far as I can remember, it seemed ok.

Bob beat me to it!:D

I agree that the profile, pockets, screw template etc. should be the same ASS to ASS and there shouldn't be a problem switching necks between two of the same models. I believe other have swapped maple and rosewood boarded necks on like models, so I don't know why it would be different with an all rosewood neck.

sounds great but what's gonna happen with the other two pieces? if you've got a rosewood topped body and a maple neck with say a trans red headstock thats going to look odd.
on the other hand if its a maple neck with a natty head then thats ok.in fact that'd look cool.iirc Rob's honey ASS has a natty head so look forward to seeing both new guitars:)

It was just going to be a something for ebay. I am sure somebody would buy it, either as a complete unit, or as a parts.
