Hey all. Just landed my first "proper" musician/teaching job. I had an audition yesterday, I was really nervous but they offered me the job on the spot.

Now I don't have to worry about driving all over the place to see students or advertising. They do all that for me and I get my own little studio! Plus, I'll be able to use my JP6 to teach with. I never take it out to students because I don't like the thought of it being in the car all that time while I'm driving.

I'm really chuffed :D

And the pay is amazing (that BFR JP7 is looking all the more tempting!). And it's affiliated with a store of which there are a few branches so I'm going to spread the word!

And just incase anybody is interested in what piece I played for my audition it was Song for George by Eric Johnson.

I played that because I didn't want to go through the hassle of setting up an amp and maybe even a backing track. I thought they might appreciate that.

Fingerstyle isn't my strong point and I said that to the lady. It's a hobby to me :)
I get quite stressed about my picking technique and all the stuff I should be able to do and all the stuff I should know. But fingerstyle/classical guitar is just something I do as a hobby. I love it because you don't need anything but your guitar and maybe some sheet music. It keeps my reading skills ticking over as well.

That would be Dawson's or Sound Control then I guess, or maybe Tesco's as they seem to be trying to muscle into just about everthing else;)

Ha! I'd love to convince Tesco's to buy a truck load of EBMM's. They could buy them but the ton and sell them at a decent price. And get free sandwiches!

Dya know the Sound Control are the only EBMM dealer I can find/know of around here. The didn't have 1 clue what I was on about when I asked for a price on a DDJP7. The pricing thing has been discussed over and over round these parts but........1 thing that really does get my goat is the fact that so called dealers don't know zilch about the products they're supposed to be authorised dealers for. And I know for sure it's the stores having worked in retail when i was younger. I can't imagine it being the reps. I would just love to be able to ring sound control and have a natter about the BFR's and you know, maybe talk about the possabilty of ordering 1 etc etc. Instead, I know I'll just spend half an hour explaining what I mean by BFR. I also know it's not the guys at strings and things (obviously). The guy I have spoke with there is so friendly and helpful.

Machinehead is obviously worth a trip, because Dave's carrying a fair bit of stock.

Otherwise, Sounds Great (Cheadle) are a dealer, had 2 Lukes in the last time I was there.

Micro Music in Liverpool (got my first EBMM from there)

Back Alley Music in Chester have also got a couple in (including a NOS Sport)

Most of the dealers I've seen mainly carry the bass's though....

Sound's Great seldom have more than one piece in stock.
Machinehead is a bit of a trek for those in the North.

Best Dealer for stock in the North (in my experiance) is Guitars4You in Ashbourne, he always has Axis/Sports, Lukes and Silos in stock (including lefties), though I seldom see Morse's, JP's or Lee's.
