Dude it looks like he's dipping a fretless bass neck. Maybe some type of sealing process.

It looks great on the basses, but it's just against my religion! ;) :p

(for you outsiders: this is a rub in by Scott! About 2 months ago, the dealer calls me to tell me that there was a mistake. What was thought to be a non-matching headstock on order for about 4 months was actually going to be matching!!! Needless to say I was freaking out big time because I wanted natural. The dealer was willing to swallow the cost which was very generous. It was almost a deal breaker. I contacted Beth and the order was changed in two seconds! Thanks again Beth! I was giving Scott a heart attack with the whole ordeal. Afterwords I was jokingly saying the maybe matching wouldn't have been that bad. I think it's going to look great either way!!! )

I did see the total Luke production numbers when the ordering was done, but now I'm getting really curious to know how many of us ordered Lukes with non-matching headstocks! Are we going to fight over them? ;)

I know what you mean.
I'm getting 1 of 4 Silos with a trem.
Mine will be natural headstock and I know at least one of the 4 will be painted.
That makes mine 1 of 3!
If the rest are painted too, then I will have the only Silo with trem and natural headstock!!!! The thought is very exciting! :D

Hey Window Shopper.:D Now that made me LOL. Actually, our forumite friends should have seen the PM Beth sent to Foggy. She made it seem like she was all made and said that the order could absolutely not be changed. Then she said just joking of course. I wish I could have seen Foggy's face while he read that one.:p :p :p

That is just one part. The neck will go to buffing, and then setup where the fretboard will be leveled, and the the gunstock oil and wax treatment will be used.
