Serial Numbers : What is the production date of my guitar?

I am from today the owner of MMJP s/n G28784.
I do know nothing about it . Pls let me have the basic infos.

7/06/05 is your guitar's date of production. It has a Graphite Pearl finish, piezo, and a matching headstock. It was originally sent to the now-defunct Rock City Music in Colorado.

How can you guys determine it's date of manufacture by the SN?

Tom, welcome! Here are your instrument production dates:

MM AXIS Sport black G08262 - 11/17/99 sent to Jim Laabs Music in Stevens Point, Wisconsin
MM Sting Ray 5 natural/rosewood 59581 - 10/09/97 sent to a GC store.
MM Sting Ray 4 sunburst/maple E27864 - E27864 sent to Bass Central.

Regarding serial number information, there is no way to gather serial number information from the serial number alone - we have no special "coding system" in our serial numbers. Guess we're just not that sophisticated. We just like to concentrate on making quality guitars and basses. Serial numbers are selected at random from a pallette of pre-stamped neckplates without a whole lot of sequential order being considered. The only way to get accurate build dates is to do what you already did - ask us! Our database system we use to keep track of instrument information is very reliable.

As I mentioned in the above post, we can tell by the information in our database, which is flawlessly maintained.

Your Silhouette Special was completed on 8/02/06 and was originally sent to Make N Music in Chicago.
