Well, I've done it. I've put some stuff up on EBay finally to make room in my finances--and in my apartment for that matter--for something new from SLO. I've kind of said, "To hell with sentimental value." Included in the auctions is my first ever electric guitar. Thankfully, it was a good one, which seems to have held some value if one looks at similar auctions. One of my acoustics is out there too.

Hopefully, I can fund a 2007LE JP6, 2007LE Bongo, or a JP F-1, which will probably require the sale of a few other things. So, I've got my fingers crossed. Wish me luck.

I wish you luck I have been doing the same thing on the evil bay, seems most do not have a clue when it comes to equipment on the evil bay. My cheap equipment sold but the better stuff nobody seems to want to pay a decent price even though it is well below normal costs.:)

Got any links to the auctions ? or cant you do that here ?

Well, it's non-EBMM stuff. So, I wouldn't want to do that here.

Yeah, you know...I had some second thoughts, but we'll see. If it doesn't sell within the week, well...I might keep it. The thing is that there are EBMMs that do the same stuff this guitar does, and they do it better. It's one of those funky F-brand...I forget the name. ;) The guitar has kind of been frustrating me, because I know there are EBMMs that do the same sounds and play a heck of a lot better. If it sells, it sells. If not, well...I have a chance to change my mind.

I'm certainly not going to be selling my first EBMM, my Pearl Redburst JP6.

The acoustic has got to go, though. No sentimental value whatsoever. It's a good guitar, but man...so many cool EBMMs, not enough money...yet. :D

Thanks, fing. I was going to sell on TGP based on some advice I got here. Unfortunately, they require that you're a member for 30 days before posting in their marketplace forum. It's been less than 30 days for me. So, I think I'm going to give that a go once I'm allowed, if I can't sell on EvilBay.

You know...I think that might happen to me too. Someone is watching my 535Q already, but not many people have even looked at my guitars.

Don't give up Rob. I had a guitar on sale for a long time and felt that it would never sell. Finally someone gave me what I was wanting. I sold it on Craig's List.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. We'll see what happens as the week progresses. It hasn't even been a full day yet. :D I guess I'm just anxious to start the ordering process on something from SLO.

Hope everything turns out good for you Roburado....As for me i don't have anything to sell anymore. I mean i still have one non EBMM guitar left, but i will not get rid of that one..I'm just glad to be able to still place an order for a EBMM this year due to a heafty tax return...The only problem is what to order still in limbo.

Thanks. Now, with what radrock said, man, I'm really having second thoughts about selling my first electric, but...I think I'll be happier in the end.

Good luck! I might be doing the same thing I have a guitar here that its not getting any use and I dont want to play it anymore since my JP arrived. I dont see the point in keeping it.

Meanwhile my first electric guitar its in very bad shape, but I might do what other thread suggested use it to experiment to properly learn how to set up a guitar and restore it . :D

First Electric

Thanks. Now, with what radrock said, man, I'm really having second thoughts about selling my first electric, but...I think I'll be happier in the end.

The items I am selling or have sold were just lying around not being used and held no sentimental value, getting rid of these items is going to help pay for my 20th silo thats on the way, but the one item I wont sell is my first electric, it holds great sentimental value.
I have only been playing/trying to play for about 4 1/2 years now and my wife bought me a Schecter Diamond Series guitar I do not play it at all but it is nice and reminds me of the support she has given me in my ongoing effort to play.
Plus this last summer I modded the pick ups by dropping in a set of Zakk Wylde EMG`s so I could never get what it is worth. But everything else must go in my pursuit of B.A.S.

Okay, radrock got me down off the ledge. I ended the auction on my first electric, a 1989 Str@t Plus. My acoustic, a Taylor 414-CE-L4 is still up there. I think I can still get what I want without selling the Str@t.

Wimp!!!...........I sold my first, never looked backed. Remember why you are trying to sell. The only way I would regret that decision is if it was a one-off. It's only a guitar..........

This is why your first guitar should be something cheap. That way it's not worth selling, the only value it has is sentimental, and you don't have such a dilemma.

*edit* Then again I gave my first guitar to my girlfriend (at the time) when I was like 16. I guess it would be nice to still have, but OTOH I don't really care. it was, after all, just a cheap guitar.

Yeah. I guess. It's not like I can't sell it later. I've got other stuff I am going to sell first. Plus, we'll see what the IRS gives me back before I sell it.
