ASAIK they're working on getting it reveilved at summer namm along w/ the BFR Albert Lee and the Bongo 6.

a decent assumption is that the order window opens at summer NAMM as well and you'll probably get yours ~6 +/- months after that

I've got small hands and stubby fingers (hey, I'm only 5'7" and shrinking all the time...). My middle finger is almost exactly three inches long from the crease at the base (looking at the finger palm-side-up) to the tip. Maybe I'll take a pic when I get home with a dollar bill or something for scale.

I don't have a problem with my Bongo 5's neck at all. I don't start running into difficulty until I pick up a sixer.

A lot of it has to do with how high you wear your bass and how straight you can keep your wrist. Having a decent instrument with good action helps too, but that's not an issue with EBMMs.

I'm dying to see what the Sterling 5 will look like!

I'm going to go way out on a limb here...now, I may be completely wrong about this, and it wouldn't be the first time, goodness knows.

But I think...and don't quote me on this...that it might just possibly, maybe, look like a Sterling with one more string.

Whew. There, I said it. A bold prediction.

You heard it here first!:p

adouglas,

I think my problem is that I am used to my SUB4 and other non MM 4 string basses that had Sterling type or thinner necks. I just bought the Bongo and it is my first 5 string. This and the fact that I still pick up the 6 string to fool aroung from time to time may make the bigger neck take some time to get used to.

Maybe I should buy a 6 string bass with a 6" wide neck to help stretch the digits.:D

That's just crazy talk! :p :D

Well, after all, the Stingray 5 doesn't look like a Stingray, it looks like a Silhouette.

So it's possible that the Sterling 5 might wind up looking like an Axis  or an Albert Lee :cool::cool:. Which would make it the most interesting and unusual bass since the Bongo.

It is also possible that pigs might fly, that everyone around the world might come to their senses or that Elle MacPherson (who is five inches taller than I am even before she puts on high heels) might fall madly in love with me.

I heard through the grapevine that the Sterling 5 will look exactly like the old skinny Steinbergers.:D

Oh, and Elle WILL love me. Stupid restraining order is the only thing standing in the way of our love.

Sorry about the thread drift..... back to your regularly scheduled topic....
